Rupak De, Senior Technical Analyst at LKP Securities
The Nifty continues to face resistance at the crucial level of 25,260, which is the 38.20% Fibonacci retracement of the recent decline from 25,669, indicating indecision among investors at the higher level. On the daily chart, the index has been sustaining above the 50-day moving average (50DMA), signifying a positive short-term trend.
As long as it remains above 25,000 on a closing basis, the sentiment is likely to stay bullish, with a "buy on dips" strategy appearing favourable. On the higher side, a decisive move above 25,260 could trigger a rally towards 25,500 and beyond.

Ajit Mishra – SVP, Research, Religare Broking
Markets traded in a narrow range and ended almost unchanged due to the absence of any fresh triggers. After an initial downtick, the Nifty index slipped further but later recovered, supported by select heavyweight stocks across sectors, which helped pare all the losses. As a result, the Nifty once again tested the resistance around the 25,250 level and eventually settled at 25,212. Meanwhile, sectoral performance remained mixed, keeping volatility elevated. IT, realty, and auto emerged as the top gainers, while metal and pharma ended in the red. The broader indices also paused after a two-day rally and closed flat.
Mixed global cues and a lackluster start to the earnings season are keeping participants uncertain about the next directional move. We believe a decisive close above the 20-day EMA, around 25,250, could open the door for further recovery. Otherwise, profit-taking may resume, with key support in the 24,900–25,000 zone. Traders should maintain a cautious stance and focus on stock selection based on relative strength and earnings outcomes.

Shrikant Chouhan, Head Equity Research, Kotak Securities
Today, the benchmark indices experienced narrow-range activity, with the Nifty ends 16 points higher and the Sensex gain 64 points. Among sectors, the PSU Bank index outperformed, rallying over 1.70 percent, while selective profit booking was observed in Metal and Defense stocks. Technically, a small candle on the daily charts and range-bound intraday activity indicate indecisiveness between the bulls and bears.
We believe that 25,100/82,300 will remain act as a key support zone for traders. As long as the market trades above this level, the bullish sentiment is likely to continue. On the higher side, the market could bounce back to the 20-day SMA (Simple Moving Average) or 25,300/83,000. Further upside may also push the market up to 25,450/83,600.
Conversely, below 25,100/82,300, the sentiment could change. If the market slips below this level, it could decline toward the 50-day SMA or the 25,000-24,930/82,000-81,800 zone.

Rupee traded weak by 0.10 rupees at 85.95, down 0.12%, as the dollar gained momentum holding above 98.50 levels. A higher-than-expected US CPI reading at 2.7% versus 2.4% strengthened the dollar index.
Going ahead, key US data including PPI and initial jobless claims are expected to keep the rupee volatile. The currency is likely to trade in a range of 85.45 to 86.25.

Vinod Nair, Head of Research, Geojit Investments
India’s macroeconomic outlook remains strong, supported by easing inflation, lower interest rates, a healthy monsoon, and softer oil prices. A drop in inflation in eight straight months has provided a push to the market. However, investors are showing a mix of optimism and caution in the relief rally to assess the Q1FY26 corporate earnings, as an upgrade in earnings is essential in the premium valued stock market.
Additionally, global sentiment is mixed amid tariff concerns—highlighted by the announcement of a 50% duty on copper—and fading hopes of a near-term U.S. Fed rate cut on account of sticky inflation, adding market uncertainty.

Anuj Choudhary – Research Analyst at Mirae Asset Sharekhan
Indian Rupee weakened against the US Dollar on a strong greenback and FII outflows. However, overnight decline in crude oil prices and positive domestic equities cushioned the downside. US Dollar rose amid high inflation data. US CPI rose 0.3% MoM in June vs forecast of 0.3% and 2.7% YoY in June vs forecast of 2.6%. Core CPI rose 0.2% MoM in June, lower than forecast of 0.3% but higher than previous month’s reading of 0.1%. on an annual basis core CPI rose 2.9% in June vs forecast of 3% but above May’s reading of 2.8%.
We expect Rupee to trade with a slight negative bias as hot inflation data from US trimmed rate cut bets. However, risk on sentiments in global markets as US delayed imposing tariffs on Russia by 50 days may support risk currencies. Traders may take cues from PPI and industrial production data from the US. USDINR spot price is expected to trade in a range of Rs 85.60 to Rs 86.30.

Nitin Jain, Sr. Research Analyst at Bonanza
HDB Financial Services posted a mixed Q1 FY26, with net profit at Rs 568 crore—down 2.4% YoY— dragged by sharply higher provisions for bad loans, which surged ~63% to Rs 670 crore. Gross stage 3 assets rose from 1.93% to 2.56%, reflecting that asset quality remains a key challenge.
On the positive side, operational momentum held firm: net interest income grew ~18% to Rs 2,092 crore, total operational revenue jumped ~15% to Rs 4,465 crore, and AUM/loan book expanded ~14–15% to Rs 1.09 trillion.
Pre provisioning profit rose ~17% to Rs 1,402 crore. HDB Financial Services Q1FY26 results reflect robust top-line and operational growth with expanding loan book and improving margins, but elevated credit costs and asset quality pressures currently weigh on net profit.
The outlook remains positive given the solid fundamentals and growth guidance.
