Breaking the key, 88.80 mark pushed the Indian Rupee to a record low of 89.48, biggest single day percentage fall after May 8, becomes the worst performer among Asian peers. The sudden surge in the USDINR pair was largely attributed to short covering, delay in US India trade deal and the apparent absence of intervention from the central bank.
The technical outlook points to 89.50 as the next level of resistance for spot USDINR, which, if broken, could see a move toward 89.95 and 88.80 will act as critical support going ahead.

Equity benchmarks eased on Friday, pausing after a two-day uptrend and a strong run that pushed markets to fresh 52-week highs. The dip came amid a softer rupee and mixed global cues. The rupee touched a new low against the dollar as expectations around a potential US rate cut moderated, while global markets remained subdued with Asian indices lower and US markets closing in the red. Higher US yields and firm dollar flows influenced sentiment, even as Japan indicated it may step in to manage yen volatility.
Uncertainty around the Federal Reserve’s rate trajectory, stronger US jobs data, and careful commentary from policymakers continued to shape a cautious mood. IT stocks also witnessed some profit-taking following weakness in US tech shares, even as Nvidia delivered strong results. The India VIX edged up 13 percent to 13.68, suggesting a slight rise in near-term volatility.
Despite today’s consolidation, markets remain close to record levels, and dips may continue to attract buyers. From a technical standpoint, the Nifty’s recent breakout keeps the broader structure constructive. Sustaining above 26,250 would support strength, while a move below 26,035 could open the door to a healthy pullback toward 25,900–25,800.

Nifty slipped into weakness on Friday after a sharp breakout of Thursday and closed the day lower by 124 points. After opening on a weak note, the market made multiple attempts of recovery from the lows for better part of the session. It failed to sustain the recovery attempt and slipped again towards the end and closed at the lows.
A small negative candle has been formed on the daily chart with minor upper shadow. Technically, this market action indicates emergence of profit booking in the market from near the crucial overhead resistance at all-time highs of 26300.
Nifty on the weekly chart formed a reasonable bull candle with long upper shadow near all-time highs. The overall weekly chart pattern indicates bullish outlook for Nifty for the near term amidst volatility.
The overall near-term trend of Nifty remains positive and present short-term weakness could form a new higher bottom around 26000-25900 levels in the next few sessions. We expect bounce back from near the support by next week. Immediate overhead resistance to be watched around 26250-26300.

Vikram Kasat, Head Advisory, PL Capital
The Nifty 50 ended the week in the 26,100–26,200 range after touching fresh 52-week highs earlier, signalling a phase of consolidation at elevated levels. The Sensex also cooled after hitting record peaks. While headline indices remained firm, the broader markets were comparatively muted, with mid- and small-cap segments seeing mild pressure. Heavyweight buying dominated the momentum, particularly in banks, IT, and index majors, even as global cues turned weak towards the end of the week and triggered some profit-taking.
From 7 November till date, market leadership has been remarkably narrow. Reliance Industries (105 points), Bharti Airtel (96 points), HDFC Bank (89 points), ICICI Bank (63 points) and Infosys (47 points) together contributed 400 points out of the 800-point Nifty rally, accounting for nearly 40% of the index weight. This concentration underscores that the recent up-move has been driven largely by a handful of heavyweights rather than broad-based participation.
Looking ahead, Nifty’s immediate support lies near 26,000, with resistance at 26,246. A break above the upper band may open room for further upside, while any slip below 25,800 could invite deeper consolidation. Global market trends, institutional flows and sector rotation will remain key drivers in the coming week.

Sudeep Shah, Head - Technical Research and Derivatives at SBI Securities
On the last trading day of the week, Nifty opened with a gap down, weighed by weak global cues and fading expectations of a US rate cut. After the gap-down start, the index staged a quick recovery, but the bounce lacked strength. A fresh round of selling dragged Nifty to an intraday low of 26,056. Following the decline, Nifty consolidated in a narrow 26,056–26,011 band for nearly two hours, indicating indecision and a temporary equilibrium between buyers and sellers. The index eventually broke out of this range and attempted to move higher, but strong supply emerged near the day’s high zone of 26,175–26,180, restricting further upside. Nifty drifted lower again from that zone and eventually ended a choppy session at 26,068, down 0.47%.
On the sectoral front, Nifty FMCG was the lone sectoral gainer, ending with a gain of 0.14%. On the other hand, Nifty Metal & Nifty Defence were the top two sectoral losers, losing in the range of 2-2.3%. On the stock front, Maruti and Tata Consumer ended up as the top gainers, while JSW Steel and Hindalco emerged as the top two losers.
The Midcap 100 & the Small cap 100 Index relatively underperformed the frontline indices. While the frontline indices showed signs of recovery from the initial gap down, the broader market indices continued to move down, closing lower. Both the indices closed in the range of 1-1.2%. The advance–decline ratio was clearly tilted in favour of the bears, with 414 out of the Nifty 500 stocks closing in the red. This indicates that the ongoing rally lacks broad-based participation and is largely being driven by a handful of large-cap names, rather than strength across the wider market
Nifty View
On the daily chart, Nifty failed to deliver a strong follow-through move after closing above the major resistance level of 26,100 in the previous session, indicating that the buyers failed to defend this level on a closing basis.
The RSI, although cooling off a little, continues to hold above the 60 mark, indicating that bullish momentum is still intact. Meanwhile, the rising MACD histogram bars suggest that the underlying momentum is gradually improving, and the bullish crossover is strengthening, often a sign that dips may attract buying interest.
Looking at key levels, the 26,200–26,250 zone is expected to act as a crucial resistance. A sustained move above 26,250 could drive the index towards 26,500. On the downside, the zone of 25,900-25,850 zone is expected to act as a strong support for the Index.
Bank Nifty View
Bank Nifty had been making new highs for four consecutive sessions, but on Friday, the index bucked this trend. It failed to register a fresh high and ended the day at 58,868, down 0.81%, indicating profit-booking after a steady up-move.
On the weekly chart, the index has delivered a breakout from a 4-week consolidation zone, where 58,550–58,650 acted as a strong resistance zone. On the indicator front, ADX has started to inch higher, which validates the strength of the ongoing uptrend. At the same time, the rising MACD histogram bars also suggest strengthening momentum on the upside, supporting the breakout continuation view.
Looking at key levels, the 59,300–59,400 zone is expected to act as a crucial resistance. A sustained move above 59,400 could drive the index towards 60,000. On the downside, the zone of 58,600-58,500 zone is expected to act as a strong support zone for Bank Nifty.

Abhinav Tiwari, Research Analyst at Bonanza
Today, the Indian stock market closed negatively, with the Sensex falling around 400 points to 85,232 and the Nifty slipping approximately 124 points to 26,068. The key factor driving this negative close was weak global cues, notably a selloff in US tech stocks following inconclusive US jobs data that heightened uncertainty about future interest rate moves. The Hang Seng tech index recorded a significant drop, contributing to the overall risk-off sentiment.
Additionally, domestic sectors such as metals faced pressure after the government extended exemptions on quality control rules for certain steel grades, leading to fears of increased imports and lower domestic prices. A fire at Hindalco's aluminum plant also dented metal stocks. IT shares declined amid concerns over stretched valuations, overshadowing positive quarterly results from some US tech giants. The India VIX surged 13%, reflecting increased volatility and trader uncertainty. Despite the negative close, markets remain near all-time highs, indicating cautious profit booking rather than a broader selloff.
This market pause near all-time highs reflects investor caution amid external uncertainties and sector specific challenges, with a watchful eye on global developments and domestic earnings as key market drivers.

Indian markets turned volatile and settled lower, reflecting the broader decline seen across Asian equities after better-than-expected US non-farm payroll data dampened the expectation of a December rate cut.
Profit-booking after a brief two-day uptrend added to the cautious tone, pulling all key indices into the red, with mid- and small-caps facing sharper corrections.
Market sentiment was further undermined by a soft manufacturing PMI reading, a weakening INR, and growing worries over potential delays in India–US trade discussions.

Rajeev Sharan, Head – Criteria, Model Development & Research, Brickwork Ratings
India’s November flash PMI of 59.9 underscores continued expansion despite moderation from earlier highs. For credit ratings, resilient activity, strong order books, and improving employment support stable-to-positive outlooks, especially for domestic demand and infrastructure-linked issuers. Manufacturing PMI, although in expansionary territory, slipped to a nine-month low of 57.4 as new orders softened and the GST-led boost possibly peaked.
Emerging sectoral softness and global headwinds warrant caution, with issuer-specific fundamentals outweighing broad-based credit rating action in the near term.

Shivani Nyati, Head of Wealth at Swastika Investmart
Capillary Technologies made a weak debut on the stock exchanges, listing at a 3% discount to its issue price. The stock opened at Rs 560 on the BSE, down 2.94%, while on the NSE it began trading at Rs 571.90, reflecting a 0.88% discount from the issue price of Rs 577.
The subdued listing indicates cautious investor sentiment despite Capillary’s strong positioning as a SaaS-based customer engagement and loyalty solutions provider serving major retail and consumer brands across India and global markets.
Capillary’s strengths lie in its AI-driven loyalty management platform, deep enterprise client relationships, strong presence across Asia and the Middle East, and consistent revenue growth driven by subscription-based recurring income. Its diversified product suite—spanning loyalty programs, customer data platforms, and engagement automation—provides scalability and long-term growth visibility. However, investors remain wary due to high competition in the SaaS and martech space, elevated customer acquisition costs, and the company’s need to enhance profitability to justify valuations.
The IPO did see participation from institutional investors, supported by expectations of increasing adoption of CRM, loyalty tech, and digital customer engagement solutions across industries. Given the discounted listing, investors and traders allotted shares may consider holding the stock with a medium- to long-term perspective, while keeping a strict stop-loss near Rs 520 to manage downside risk.
