MTM shows the real-time gains or losses on a bond due to changes in interest rates, credit risk, or market demand. It gives investors a realistic view of the current value of the bond. For example, if a bond was purchased at ₹10,000 and its market price rises to ₹10,200, the MTM gain is ₹200.
