Vikram Kasat, Head - Advisory, PL Capital
The Indian market continued its positive stride with Nifty crossing the 26,000 milestone, signaling resilience in domestic equities. On the sectoral front, the market displayed a strong bullish trend, posting gains in metal, private banking, energy, and pharma sectors, while only auto stocks faced pressure. Broader market sentiment remains range-bound, with mid and smallcaps showing healthy participation, suggesting investors are still willing to take selective risk.
While the upcoming Fed decision remains a key global trigger, the underlying tone of the market points to optimism that monetary easing and stable domestic macros will sustain momentum. For now, the focus remains on earnings delivery and sector rotation, which is likely to keep the uptrend orderly rather than euphoric.

Rupak De, Senior Technical Analyst at LKP Securities
Optimism over progress in the US-China deal took the Nifty higher. However, market participants preferred to wait ahead of the Fed rate decision and its forward-looking commentary before pushing the index above the recent high. Sentiment remains intact with a strong bullish technical setup.
Initial support is placed at 25,850, below which the index might slip into a consolidation zone. On the higher end, once Nifty decisively moves above 26,100, it is likely to advance towards 26,300/26,500 in the short term.

Sudeep Shah, Head - Technical Research and Derivatives at SBI Securities
Nifty continued its steady upward march throughout the session, extending the positive momentum witnessed during the sharp surge in the last hour of the monthly expiry day. The Index closed at 26,054 with a gain of 0.45%.
Sentiment also got a slight boost after U.S. President Donald Trump commented that a trade deal with India could be finalized soon, which added to the optimism in the market during the day. Looking ahead, market participants will keep a close eye on the U.S. Federal Reserve’s policy outcome later tonight, where the street widely anticipates a 25-basis point rate cut.
On the sectoral front, Nifty Oil & Gas was the top sectoral gainer, ending with a gain of 2.12%, followed by Nifty Metals, which ended with a gain of 1.71%. On the other hand, Nifty Auto & Nifty Capital Markets were the top two sectoral losers. On the stock front, Adani Ports and NTPC ended up as the top gainers, while Coal India and Dr Reddy emerged as the top two losers.
The broader market indices continued to move in a higher high formation for the third consecutive day. Midcap Index and the Smallcap Index ended 0.64% & 0.43% higher respectively. The market breath, however improved as the advance-decline ratio was tilted in the favour of the bulls as a total of 344 stocks out of the Nifty 500 closed in the green.
Nifty View
Nifty continued to edge up higher steadily throughout the session. The index, however, failed to cross the 26,100 mark after coming close to this level, making an Intraday high of 26,098. This led to the formation of a small-bodied candle with a minor upper shadow on the daily chart, a sign of mild selling pressure emerging around this crucial resistance zone.
Interestingly, Nifty had earlier made a high of 26,104 on October 23, and since then, while prices have been edging higher, the momentum has shown signs of slowing down.
Despite the lack of strong momentum, the broader trend remains positive, with the index comfortably trading above its key moving averages. On the indicator front, the RSI has gradually risen from 67.92 to 72.43 over the last three sessions, suggesting that buying strength is still present. Meanwhile, the ADX continues to rise, indicating that the broader trend is strong, which supports the case for further upside if Nifty manages to break above immediate resistance levels.
Looking at key levels, the zone of 26,100-26,150 will act as an immediate resistance for the Index. If the index manages to give a follow through move above the level of 26,150, then the rally can continue further till 26,350 level. While, on the downside, the zone of 25,850-25,800 will act as a crucial support for the Index.
Bank Nifty View
Bank Nifty shrugged off its initial weakness and rose steadily through the session, eventually closing at 58,385 with a gain of 0.29%. On the daily chart, the index has formed a small-bodied candle with a relatively long lower shadow, reflecting buying interest at lower levels and that the bulls are still defending key supports.
Importantly, with today’s close, Bank Nifty has managed to break above the 58,200–58,300 zone, which had acted as a stiff resistance in the previous three sessions. A sustained close above this zone opens the door for further upside in the near term.
The index continues to trade well above its key short- and long-term moving averages, reaffirming the prevailing bullish trend. The RSI stands at 74.19, while it signals an overbought condition, there is still some room for further upside before any meaningful correction sets in. Additionally, the ADX is rising, which indicates that the underlying trend is strengthening, supporting the case for continued upward momentum.
Looking at key levels, the 58,400–58,500 zone will act as an immediate resistance for the Index. If the index manages to give a follow through move above the level of 58,500, the pullback can continue further till 59,000 level. While, on the downside, the zone of 58,100-58,000 will act as a crucial support for the Index.

Nagaraj Shetti, Senior Technical Research Analyst at HDFC Securities
After witnessing high volatility on the day of F&O expiry on Tuesday, Nifty continued its upside momentum on Wednesday and closed the day higher by 117 points. After opening with an upside gap of 46 points, the market continued its upside momentum in the early-mid part of the session. Minor consolidation was seen towards the end and the market finally closed near the highs.
A long bull candle was formed on the daily chart and Nifty is now placed at the edge of moving above the hurdle of previous swing high around 26100 levels. The overall bullish chart pattern indicates a possibility of decisive breakout of recent consolidation movement in the market.
The underlying trend of Nifty continues to be positive. A sustainable upmove from here could open the next upside target of around 26400-26500 levels in the near term. Immediate support is placed at 25800 levels.

Ajit Mishra – SVP, Research, Religare Broking
Markets edged higher on Wednesday, gaining nearly half a percent amid upbeat global cues. Investor sentiment remained supported by expectations of a potential U.S. Federal Reserve rate cut and encouraging updates on possible trade deals. After a positive start, the Nifty 50 gradually moved higher throughout the session and closed at 26,053.90. Sectorally, all major indices, barring auto, ended in the green, with energy, metal, and FMCG leading the gains. The broader markets also moved in tandem, with the midcap and smallcap indices advancing between 0.49% and 0.71%.
Participants will first react to the U.S. Fed’s policy outcome in early trade on Thursday, after which focus will shift back to corporate earnings. With rotational buying seen across sectors, we expect the prevailing uptrend to continue, with the Nifty eyeing a fresh record high. Immediate support is placed at 25,800. While improving market breadth adds to the positive undertone, we continue to advise a selective approach, favoring fundamentally strong companies.

Abhinav Tiwari, Research Analyst at Bonanza
The Indian market ended on a strong note today with both Sensex and Nifty closing at 84,997 and 26,054, respectively. The rally was driven by heavyweights such as Reliance Industries, HDFC Bank, NTPC, Adani Ports, Power Grid, HCL Tech, and Tata Steel, which gained up to 3% intraday. Sectorally, Nifty Metal and Oil & Gas indices outperformed, each rising nearly 2%, while Auto and select banking names saw mild profit booking. The upbeat mood extended to broader markets, with both Midcap and Smallcap indices advancing in tandem.
The key trigger was optimism over a potential US-India trade deal after US President Donald Trump hinted at a forthcoming agreement during the APEC Summit, boosting foreign investor confidence. Strong global cues, including sustained gains in US equities and AI-led rallies in global tech stocks, reinforced bullish sentiment. Domestic triggers such as BPCL and Oil India’s Rs. 1 lakh crore refinery project and Adani Green’s robust Q2 results further strengthened market momentum.
Looking ahead, we await the US Federal Reserve’s policy statement and Chair Powell’s commentary for cues on interest rate direction. Expectations of dovish guidance could sustain foreign inflows. Domestically, strong macro fundamentals, government-led infrastructure push, and healthy corporate earnings are likely to keep sentiment positive. However, we remain cautious about global developments, crude price volatility, and upcoming results.

The domestic market ended on a strong note, supported by positive cues from Asian markets and improved clarity on global trade dynamics. Optimism over potential progress in India–US trade talks further lifted sentiment. Oil stocks led the rally as crude prices eased expectations of higher OPEC+ output, while metal stocks advanced amid firm commodity prices and supply constraints.
The upcoming Fed decision remains a key event for global markets; although a 25-bps rate cut is widely anticipated, investors will closely track its commentary for further rate cuts, which will guide the future market trajecto

SEBI’s recent decision to reduce the Total Expense Ratio (TER) is a constructive step toward enhancing investor value and fostering greater cost efficiency within the mutual fund industry. Lower expenses will directly improve net returns for investors, reinforcing confidence in mutual fund products as a long-term wealth creation avenue.
While the move may exert pressure on fund houses—particularly large AMCs with substantial AUMs—by compressing profit margins, it encourages greater operational discipline and transparency. Smaller and newer AMCs may face challenges in sustaining distributor pay-outs and marketing efforts; however, the overall reform aligns the industry with global best practices, ensuring a more investor-centric and competitive landscape.
