Hrishikesh Yedve, AVP Technical and Derivative Research, Asit C. Mehta Investment Interrmediates
The Nifty index opened on a positive note, registered a fresh lifetime high of 26,310, and eventually settled flat at 26,216. On the daily chart, Nifty has formed a small red candle near the trendline resistance, indicating profit booking at higher levels.
In the near term, the immediate hurdle for the index is placed at 26,310. A sustained breakout above this level may lead to further upside toward 26,500–26,800. On the downside, 26,000 and 25,840 will act as crucial support zones.
The Bank Nifty index opened on a strong footing and continued its upward momentum, marking a new lifetime high near 59,867 before closing on a bullish note at 59,737. The Bank Nifty index witnessed mild profit booking near the trendline resistance; however, it still managed to form a bullish candle, indicating underlying strength.
As long as Bank Nifty holds above 59,400, the ongoing rally could see an extension toward the 59,900-60,000 marks. Therefore, short-term traders are advised to maintain a buy-on-dips approach in Bank Nifty.

Gaurav Garg, Research Analyst Lemonn Markets Desk
Indian markets have surged to fresh lifetime highs after 14 months, driven by key factors that have strengthened sentiment and supported a broad-based rally. The Nifty has crossed 26,310 and the Sensex has moved above 86,000 for the first time, reflecting strong domestic resilience despite global uncertainty.
A major driver has been the steady flow of domestic investments, with SIP inflows, retail participation and robust liquidity providing a strong cushion against foreign outflows.
India’s stable macroeconomic environment—marked by controlled inflation, healthy forex reserves and steady growth—has further boosted confidence at a time when other major economies face rate pressures and recession risks. Also highlight improving earnings momentum, with strong Q2 results, rising profitability and supportive government policies strengthening the corporate outlook for the coming quarters.
Finally, after nearly a year of consolidation and relative underperformance, Indian valuations have moderated, making large caps more attractive and drawing renewed foreign interest. Together, these factors have created a favourable setup for the indices to break past previous highs and sustain a positive trajectory.

The index remained sideways after a positive start, ending the day almost unchanged. On Thursday, the Nifty registered a new all-time high after 14 months, but the breakout was muted, and the index moved sideways thereafter.
The short-term trend, however, remains positive, with the index trading comfortably above all major moving averages. The RSI is in a bullish crossover, and the higher-top, higher-bottom structure appears intact, confirming an ascending chart pattern.
On the lower end, support is placed at 26,000; until this level is breached, the index may move towards 26,440/26,580. A buy-on-dips approach would be a better strategy, as some consolidation in the near term is expected after the recent sharp up-move.

After witnessing an excellent breakout on Wednesday, Nifty shifted into a consolidation at the new all-time highs on Thursday and closed the day higher by 10 points amidst volatility. After opening on a positive note, the market registered a new all-time high at 26310 levels in the early part of the session. It later failed to gather momentum at the new highs and slipped into minor weakness amidst range bound action.
A small red candle was formed on the daily chart with minor upper and lower shadow. Technically, this market action indicates a consolidation movement in the market post breakout.
This market action also suggests some more choppy movement for the short term before showing another round of sharp upmove in the near-term. Immediate support is placed at 26100-26050. Next upside levels to be watched around 26600.

Abhinav Tiwari, Research Analyst at Bonanza
Today, the Indian equities ended slightly higher, after a volatile trading day. The Nifty 50 stayed just below its recent record high, while the Sensex also closed almost flat. The market cooled off mainly due to profit booking at higher levels, even though overall sentiment remained positive.
After a strong rally in the previous session, investors used the early move toward record highs to book profits. Private banks and financial services were the standout performers, helped by strong credit demand and consistent institutional inflows, but selling in IT, and energy stocks offset those gains.
Global markets offered a supportive backdrop, with optimism around possible interest rate cuts and firm sentiment in the US and Asia. Expectations of strong FY26 growth, healthy economic indicators and steady domestic flows helped markets absorb intraday volatility. Markets may stay range bound but slightly positive as indices consolidate near all time highs ahead of GDP data and central bank commentary.
Financials may continue to lead, though investors will watch for any stress in unsecured loans or rural demand. Global yields, crude prices and rate cut signals will influence whether the market can break above recent highs.

Indian equities briefly touched uncharted territory today, with the Sensex crossing 86,000 and the Nifty surging past 26,300 for the first time before profit-taking dragged both indices off their highs.
This move confirms the market’s entry into a new bull cycle. With both global and domestic interest rates expected to fall more sharply than earlier anticipated, we foresee a supportive liquidity environment, a bond rally and a gradually strengthening rupee. In this backdrop, investors should position portfolios for a falling rate cycle adding duration in government bonds and increasing exposure to rate-sensitives such as banks, NBFCs and real estate, while paring USD-heavy positions and near-term defensives.
The broad-based strength across Nifty 500 names further reinforces our view that staying aligned with the trend will be rewarding over the next two years.

The benchmark index Nifty scaled a fresh all-time high on Thursday, marking a significant milestone after a gap of 14 months. However, the excitement was short-lived as the index faced mild profit booking soon after hitting the record level. In the final hour of trade, buying interest resurfaced, helping Nifty recover partially and close above the 26200 mark with a modest gain of 0.04%. On the daily chart, the index has formed a high-wave candle, a classic sign of indecision at elevated levels, indicating that the market is at a critical juncture where bulls and bears are battling for dominance.
Among the Nifty constituents, Bajaj Finance and ICICI Bank emerged as the top gainers, while Adani Enterprises and Eicher Motors were the biggest losers. Sectoral performance was mixed, with Nifty Media and Nifty Financial Services leading the gains, whereas Nifty Realty and Nifty Consumer Durables ended in the red. Interestingly, Thursday was a landmark day for multiple indices as Nifty Bank, Nifty Private Bank, Nifty Financial Services, Nifty Auto, and Nifty Infra also clocked fresh record highs, signalling strength in select pockets.
The broader market, however, painted a different picture. The Nifty Midcap 100 index managed to hit a new all-time high, reflecting continued interest in mid-sized companies, while the Nifty Smallcap 100 closed lower, highlighting caution in the smallest segment of the market. The advance-decline ratio tilted sharply in favour of decliners, with 312 stocks from the Nifty 500 universe ending in the red, indicating underlying weakness despite headline gains.
Nifty View
Going ahead, the zone of 26300-26330 will act as an important hurdle for the index. Any sustainable move above the 26330 level will lead to a sharp upside rally upto the 26500 in the short term. While on the downside, the zone of 26090-26060 will act as crucial support for the index.
Bank Nifty View
The banking benchmark index, Bank Nifty, has also marked a fresh all-time high on Thursday. Considering the current chart structure, the index is likely to continue its northward journey and test the 60100, followed by 60500 in the short term. While on the downside, the zone of 59400-59300 will act as important support for the index.

Indian markets steadied after a volatile session where both the Nifty and Sensex briefly touched record highs before profit booking ensued. Throughout the year, retailers emerged as the primary investors. However, the overall market performance fell short of expectations, prompting a shift towards de-risking by year-end.
Market participants are now keenly watching tomorrow’s GDP print, along with key events such as the US-India deal and the RBI policy meeting. These factors will play a crucial role in determining the near-term direction for equities.

Ajay Menon, MD & CEO - Wealth Management, Motilal Oswal Financial Services
After nearly 14 months of consolidation, the Nifty 50 has broken out to new highs, supported by broad-based strength in large caps and improving market sentiment.
The Nifty Midcap has also touched record levels, signalling wider participation beyond index heavyweights. The rally has been reinforced by expectations of rate cuts from both the RBI and the US Federal Reserve - a shift that improves visibility for interest-rate-sensitive sectors and could trigger renewed FPI inflows.
Alongside this, early signs of an earnings recovery from Q3 - supported by GST rationalisation and improving rural demand - are improving confidence in the earnings cycle. Optimism around a potential trade agreement boosting export-linked sectors has further strengthened sentiment. Together, these factors are driving investors to move beyond selective positioning and reposition portfolios for a more broad-based market upcycle.

Nifty crossing an all-time high reflects strong market confidence and steady economic momentum. Such milestones show that trends are shaped by patience, discipline and data, not short-term noise.
Credit goes to the government, policymakers and retail investors who have supported the economy through uncertainties. It is truly a moment to celebrate.

Prashanth Tapse, Sr. VP research analyst at Mehta Equities
Equity benchmarks scaling fresh record highs are being powered by resilient domestic inflows, improving global risk appetite, and renewed optimism around Q3FY26 earnings. While the undertone remains constructive, we expect only a measured upside from current levels likely limited to a few percentage points in the near term.
Investors should guard against over-enthusiasm or ‘FOMO buying’, as the rally continues to be narrow. A large part of the mid-cap and small-cap universe including several sector leaders remains in a corrective or fragile zone despite headline indices hitting all-time highs.
Sustaining the next leg of the rally will depend on a meaningful earnings recovery, stability in global macros, and continued domestic participation. We advise a selective, quality-focused approach rather than chasing momentum at elevated levels.
On technical prospective 26445 is the next resistance with support at 25980 levels and both acts as make or break levels.

Kaynat Chainwala, AVP Commodity Research, Kotak Securities
Spot gold climbed to a nearly two-week high on Wednesday, settling above $4,160 per ounce, supported by a softer dollar and growing rate-cut expectations. Better-than-expected jobless claims did not alter the outlook, with markets still pricing in an 80% probability of a December Fed cut.
The dollar also remained soft amid reports that Kevin Hassett, a dovish candidate who favors lower rates, is expected to replace Powell. Today, gold is trading slightly lower below $4,150 amid mixed drivers, as renewed China–Taiwan tensions and expectations for a softer monetary policy outlook lend support, while potential progress toward a Russia-Ukraine peace deal may cap further upside.
WTI crude oil gained 1% and closed at a session high of $58.7/bbl on Wednesday as doubts grow over the likelihood of a formal Ukraine-Russia peace deal. European Commission Vice President Kallas said there was “zero indication” that Russia is ready for a ceasefire and noted that it has been “ramping up rather than winding down” its military machine.
Traders are also questioning whether any agreement can be reached while both sides continue to target energy infrastructure. Upside momentum was limited by a buildup in US crude and product inventories, driven partly by an increase in imports from the previous week. Today, oil prices edged slightly lower to $58.3/bbl as markets await clearer signals on the potential peace deal and remain cautious ahead of the OPEC+ meeting on Sunday, where the group is expected to leave output levels unchanged.
