Nifty formed a bullish engulfing pattern on the daily chart, suggesting the possibility of a meaningful bullish reversal. On the 2-hourly chart, the index has started a recovery supported by a positive divergence.

In addition, a hidden positive divergence is visible on the daily chart, further indicating the potential for a smart recovery in the short term. On the higher side, Nifty may move towards 24,950–25,000. A decisive move above 25,000 could trigger a rally towards 25,200. On the downside, support is placed at 24,750.

Vinod Nair, Head of Research, Geojit Investments

Amidst lingering uncertainties over the ongoing U.S.–India trade negotiations, the domestic equity market staged a modest recovery from intraday lows. Almost all the sectors ended in green, with metal, pharma, and realty leading the gains, while IT, financials, and FMCG lagged due to weak quarterly results. Investor sentiment remains cautious ahead of key global events, including policy decisions from the U.S. Fed and the August 1 reciprocal tariff deadline.

Sustenance of this rally is likely to be positive in the near term with an eye on the above details, including Q1 results and this week's monthly expiry. For the Nifty50 index, 25,000 to 25,100 is likely to act as a restriction at the upper end.

Ajit Mishra – SVP, Research, Religare Broking

Markets edged higher on Tuesday, gaining over half a percent and taking a breather after the recent decline. The Nifty index nearly tested the crucial support zone of its medium-term moving average, the 100-day EMA, in early trade, followed by a gradual recovery that lasted until the close. As a result, it ended near the day’s high at the 24,821.10 level. Notably, all key sectors contributed to the recovery, with realty, pharma, and energy emerging as the top gainers. The broader indices also found some relief, posting gains in the range of 0.81% to 1.05%.

The recovery in the Nifty was driven by oversold positions in heavyweight stocks, coupled with the presence of strong support at the 100-day EMA. However, participants should avoid reading too much into a single-day bounce and remain focused on selective stock picking and disciplined trade management, given the next resistance around the 25,000–25,100 zone. Moreover, the upcoming derivatives expiry and global developments could add to market volatility in the near term.

Vaibhav Vidwani, Research Analyst at Bonanza

Today, the Indian stock market closed positively with the Nifty 50 index rising by approximately 0.6% to 24,821 points, marking a gain of around 140 points from the previous close. The BSE Sensex also gained about 446 points, trading near 81,337, reflecting a roughly 0.55% increase. This upward movement was driven by strong performances in sectors such as healthcare, realty, and pharmaceuticals, which saw gains exceeding 1%. Other key sectors like autos, metals, energy, and infrastructure also contributed with gains ranging from around 0.7% to 1%. The positive close on this day can be attributed to a combination of sector-specific strength and improved investor sentiment despite ongoing concerns over trade negotiations and foreign institutional investor outflows.

The market showed resilience after recent downward pressure caused by stalled India-US trade talks and mixed quarterly earnings results. The healthcare and realty sectors provided defensive support, while select heavyweights boosted overall market breadth with more advancing stocks than decliners.

Looking ahead, market expectations are cautious but mildly optimistic. Investors are likely to focus on upcoming quarterly earnings for cues on corporate performance amid macroeconomic uncertainties. The unresolved India-US trade deal remains a significant headwind, but better stability in global markets and steady domestic institutional investment may underpin the market.

July 29, 2025· 15:51 IST

Dilip Parmar, Research Analyst, HDFC Securities

The Indian Rupee continued its downward trajectory, reaching its weakest level since March 13, 2025. This depreciation was primarily driven by sustained selling by foreign funds, coupled with a recovery in the US Dollar and an increase in crude oil prices.

Market participants are now closely monitoring the upcoming FOMC monetary policy meeting and the deadline for tariff negotiations, as these events are expected to provide further direction for the Rupee.

For the USD/INR pair, the immediate support level is seen at 86.30, while resistance is seen at 87.05.

Rajan Shinde, Research Analyst, Mehta Equities

We believe Sri Lotus Developers and Realty Ltd IPO offers investors an opportunity to invest in a Mumbai-based real estate developer focused on the high-growth ultra-luxury and luxury housing segment, with a strong presence in redevelopment projects. We think with a proven track record in premium redevelopment projects and an asset-light model that enhances capital efficiency and cash flow generation, the company is well-positioned for scalable, low-risk growth.

Its strong brand recognition under “Lotus Developers,” pricing premium in Juhu and consistent early pre-sales reflect robust demand and customer trust. We also think its execution capabilities—delivering projects well ahead of RERA timelines—demonstrate operational excellence. By looking at the financials, company has demonstrated robust growth, with revenue from operations rising 176.61% in FY24 and 19.09% in FY25, while net profit surged by 635% in FY24 and 90% in FY25.

On valuation parse at the upper price band of Rs 150, the issue is asking for a market cap of Rs 7331 crore. Based on FY 2025 earnings and fully-diluted post-IPO paid-up capital, the company is asking for a PE 32.17x which seems fully priced relative to its future growth prospects. With 5 ongoing and 11 upcoming projects across key micro-markets in Mumbai—alongside strategic expansion into high-value localities such as Prabhadevi, Nepean Sea Road, and Bandra—Company is well-positioned to capitalize on sustained urban housing demand and rising premium real estate prices.

Operating in a highly competitive and fragmented market, the company stands out as a niche ultra-luxury developer with high margins, though it comes to market at a premium valuation. The presence of notable investors and Bollywood personalities in the pre-IPO placement adds visibility but also elevates expectations. Considering all factors, we recommend Sri Lotus Developers and Realty Ltd IPO to “SUBSCRIBE” for long-term investors who are seeking selective exposure to Mumbai’s upscale real estate segment.”

Anuj Choudhary – Research Analyst at Mirae Asset Sharekhan

Indian Rupee fell by nearly 20 paise on a jump in the US Dollar index and a surge in crude oil prices. US Dollar rallied on optimism over US-EU trade deal. However, a bounce back in the domestic equities after falling sharply over the past three sessions cushioned the downside.

Lingering trade deal between India and the US may continue to weigh on the Rupee. Rising crude oil prices and foreign outflows may also pressurise the Rupee. FIIs have offloaded stock worth nearly Rs 37000 crore till date, the biggest selling since February 2025. Month end Dollar demand from OMCs and importers may further pressurise the Rupee. Investors may remain cautious ahead of US Federal Reserve and Bank of Japan’s monetary policy decision this week. USDINR spot price is expected to trade in a range of Rs 86.60 to Rs 87.15.

COMEX August gold futures slipped to a two-and-a-half-week low of $3,300 per ounce before closing 0.8% lower at $3,310 on Monday, weighed down by a stronger US dollar. The dollar climbed to a one-week high of 98.66 amid easing global trade tensions as a trade agreement between the US and EU introduced a 15% tariff on most EU exports, including automobiles, helped avert a broader trade war.

Also, signs of an extended truce between the US and China, along with expectations that the Fed will keep rates steady at this week’s FOMC meeting, further supported the dollar. Meanwhile, ETFs continued to add gold for the fifth straight session, pushing total holdings to their highest level since July 2023.

Today, gold is trading near $3,315 as markets await key US data releases, including JOLTS job openings and CB Consumer Confidence, while trade talks continue with Canada and South Korea.

WTI crude oil prices surged nearly 3% to $67.1 per barrel yesterday, driven by supply disruption concerns, progress on a US-EU trade deal, and rising expectations that the US and China may extend their tariff truce by another three months. Besides, Trump announced an accelerated deadline for Russia, shortening the original 50-day window to just 10–12 days, moving the truce deadline forward from September 2.

Trump warned of possible “secondary sanctions” if an agreement on Ukraine isn’t reached, sparking fears that rising tensions could threaten global crude supply flows. Meanwhile, the OPEC+ JMMC meeting delivered no surprises, maintaining current production plans. However, the committee flagged uneven compliance among members and instructed countries that missed their targets to submit updated compensation plans by August 18.

Today, oil prices are holding steady near $66.70 per barrel, supported by the renewed pressure on Russia. However, sharp upside may be capped ahead of the US trade deal deadline on August 1 and the official OPEC+ output policy meeting on August 3.

Colin Shah, MD, Kama Jewelry

The upcoming India-UK Free Trade Agreement is a lucrative opportunity for the revival of India’s gem and jewellery exports.

Currently, India's jewellery exports to the UK are worth ~USD 400 million and has the potential to grow to USD 1 billion post the implementation of this deal. With the UK being one of our key export markets, the removal of nearly all tariffs on exports, particularly on high-value products like gold, diamond-studded jewellery and lab-grown diamonds will provide a significant competitive edge to Indian jewellery exporters, making it easier and cost-effective to for them to trade there.

This will also generate more employment opportunities in India, especially in regions where jewellery making is a major livelihood. This agreement will also help smaller jewellery brands, especially those working with lab-grown diamonds, silver and colourful gemstones to get into the competitive space by empowering them to export their offerings to UK.

The UK market is a dynamic market which is constantly evolving wherein younger consumers are increasingly preferring jewellery pieces that are ethical, sustainable and design-driven. This gives India an exciting opportunity to innovate and cater to these changing tastes. Overall, this trade deal is a fruitful move which will grant a massive global stage to Indian artisans, designers and entrepreneurs to showcase their work and expand their footprint in major markets like UK.
