Vatsal Bhuva, Technical Analyst at LKP Securities
The index has closed below its 50 EMA on the hourly chart and slipped under the strong 26000 support near its 10-day EMA, forming a bearish candlestick and signaling short-term weakness. A further retracement is likely if the index opens or closes below the 10-day EMA at 25950, which could push it toward the 20-day EMA placed at 25850 levels.
Support for the index stands at 25850, and a cautious stance is advisable if it breaks below this level, while resistance remains at 26100.

Markets traded with a subdued bias on Monday, ending nearly half a percent lower. After a positive start, the Nifty index moved in a narrow range for most of the session, but a sharp decline in the final half hour dragged it lower. It eventually settled at 25,959.50, down 0.42%.
Sectorally, all major indices—barring IT—closed in the red, with realty, metal, and energy leading the losses. Broader market sentiment was also weak, as both the midcap and smallcap indices closed in the red, reflecting caution ahead of key global events and the monthly derivatives expiry.
The muted performance was driven by risk aversion amid global uncertainties and continued FII selling, which overshadowed domestic resilience.
With the monthly expiry scheduled for Tuesday, volatility is likely to remain elevated. We expect the Nifty to hover within the 25,800–26,100 range. Meanwhile, participants should maintain a stock-specific approach and use dips or periods of consolidation to gradually accumulate quality names.

Nagaraj Shetti, Senior Technical Research Analyst at HDFC Securities
Nifty closed about 108 points lower, reflecting profit booking and a short term pause after its recent rally rather than a confirmed trend reversal. The medium term technical setup remains positive, but the index is in a weak trend with volatility and late session selling as per short term perspective.
A long bear candle has been formed on the daily chart on Monday which indicates an emergence of selling pressure in the market from near all time highs. This is not a good sign and this market action suggests chances of more weakness in the short term.
The underlying short term trend of Nifty seems to have reversed down. Further weakness from here could drag Nifty down to the next important support of 25700 levels in the next few sessions. However, the upper area of 26200-26300 levels could provide strong resistance for the market in the near term.

Sudeep Shah, Head - Technical and Derivatives Research at SBI Securities
The benchmark index Nifty extended its losing streak for the second consecutive session, closing below the psychologically important 26000 mark with a decline of 0.42%. On the daily chart, the index has formed a large bearish candle, signalling sustained selling pressure and a lack of buying interest.
Within the Nifty constituents, Tech Mahindra and Eicher Motors managed to buck the trend and emerged as the top gainers, while Bharat Electronics and JSW Steel were among the biggest losers, dragging the index lower. Sectoral performance was broadly negative, with Nifty IT being the only sector to end in the green. All other major sectoral indices closed in the red, led by sharp declines in Nifty Realty, Nifty Chemical, and Nifty Metal.
The weakness was not confined to frontline indices. The broader market also witnessed heavy selling, as Nifty Midcap 100 and Nifty Smallcap 100 ended on a negative note. Notably, the Nifty Smallcap 100 slipped below its 200-day EMA, a key technical support level, which points to strong bearish momentum. Adding to the concern, its daily RSI fell below the 40 mark and continues to trend downward, reinforcing the possibility of further downside. Market breadth remained extremely weak, with the advance-decline ratio tilted heavily in favor of decliners. From the Nifty 500 universe, as many as 338 stocks closed in the red, highlighting the broad-based nature of the selloff.
Nifty View
Going ahead, the 20-day EMA zone of 25850–25800 will act as an important support for the Nifty. On the upside, the 26100–26130 zone will serve as a crucial hurdle. A decisive move beyond either of these levels will likely determine the next directional trend for the market.
Bank Nifty View
The banking benchmark index Bank Nifty witnessed strong bullish momentum during the first half of the session, but failed to sustain near its previous day’s high. In the last hour of trade, the index saw a sharp correction, erasing early gains and finally closing below the 58900 mark with a marginal loss of 0.05%. On the daily chart, it has formed a high wave candle, which reflects indecisiveness among market participants and signals a lack of clear trend direction.
Going ahead, the 20-day EMA zone of 58400–58300 will act as a critical support for the index. A sustained move below 58300 could trigger further downside towards 57700, indicating a deeper correction. On the upside, the 59200–59300 zone will serve as a key hurdle, and only a decisive breakout above this range can revive bullish momentum in the banking space.

Vinod Nair, Head of Research, Geojit Investments
After a range-bound positive session, the market closed with a decline in the last half hour, as Nifty50 indices could not survive above the key threshold of 26,000. Investor sentiment remained cautious, in anticipation of key event risk like delays in finalizing the interim US-India trade agreement. Nonetheless, selective buying in IT stocks offered some support. On a brighter note, global markets remain optimistic, fueled by renewed expectations of a December Fed rate cut, prompted by downside risks to U.S. employment data. Domestically, favorable macro indicators, including GDP growth, controlled inflation, stable oil prices, and a strong H2 earnings outlook, have contributed to market stability.

Kaynat Chainwala, Analyst Commodities & Currency, Kotak Securities
Spot gold rebounded sharply from a session low of $4,025/oz to close at $4,065/oz on Friday after dovish remarks from New York Fed President John Williams boosted expectations of a December rate cut. The probability of a cut next month jumped from 40% to 70%, according to the CME FedWatch tool, after Williams warned that labor-market risks now outweigh inflation concerns and signaled room for near-term easing. Still, gold closed the week with a modest 0.5% decline as gold was weighed down by a firm U.S. dollar holding above 100 amid uneven labor data, the absence of October payrolls, and mixed Fed commentary. Today, spot gold eased to $4,045/oz as traders cautiously await a series of U.S. economic releases, with any upside surprises likely to shift expectations back toward no rate cut.
WTI crude oil slipped to a one-month low of $57.38/bbl on Friday as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy agreed to work with the U.S. on a peace plan, overshadowing the impact of US sanctions on Rosneft and Lukoil that took effect the same day. Earlier in the week, crude had firmed near $61/bbl on expectations of tighter sanctions on Russia and the possibility of U.S. military action against Venezuela. Today, oil prices are holding near $58/bbl, with growing prospects of a Ukraine-Russia peace deal raising the likelihood of sanctions relief for Moscow, potentially releasing previously restricted supplies and worsening an already fragile global glut.

Vikrant Chaturvedi, Associate Director - Research, Brickwork Ratings
India’s new labour laws represent a major structural overhaul for both employers and workers. By merging more than 29 separate regulations into four unified codes, the reforms seek to simplify compliance and establish more consistent standards across states. For companies, greater flexibility in hiring, fixed-term contracts, and streamlined retrenchment rules may enhance operational efficiency; however, questions remain about safeguarding worker rights.
For employees, revisions to wage definitions, expanded social security coverage, and clearer workplace norms offer improved transparency; however, execution risks remain significant. Ultimately, the long-term impact will depend on how smoothly states implement the codes, how industries adapt, and the strength of on-ground enforcement.
