Shrikant Chouhan, Head Equity Research, Kotak Securities
Today, the benchmark indices continued their positive momentum. The Nifty closed 104 points higher, while the Sensex was up by 371 points. Among sectors, the Oil and Gas index outperformed, rallying 1.65 percent, whereas the Defence Index lost the most, shed 1 percent.
Technically, after a muted open, the market took support near 24,875/81300 and bounced back sharply. In addition, A bullish candle on daily charts and an uptrend continuation formation on intraday charts indicate a further uptrend from the current levels.
For day traders, as long as the market trades above 24,875/81300, the uptrend wave is likely to continue on the higher side, potentially moving up to 25,150-25,250/82000-82300. On the flip side, below 24,875/81300, the uptrend would become vulnerable. Under such conditions, traders may prefer to exit their long positions.

Nagaraj Shetti, Senior Technical Research Analyst at HDFC Securities
After witnessing a sharp upside breakout on Monday, Nifty continued with follow-through upmove amidst range bound action on Tuesday and closed the day higher by 103 points. After opening with a positive note, the market moved up further in the early to mid-part of the session. However, the psychological hurdle of 25K mark was not taken out and Nifty finally closed below the said mark.
A reasonable positive candle was formed on the daily chart with minor upper shadow that placed beside the red candle of Monday. This market action signals a range bound action below the hurdle of 25000 levels.
The sharp opening upside gap of Monday remains intact two sessions after its formation. This gap could now be considered as a bullish breakaway gap, which is normally formed at the important bottom reversal. Hence, one may expect Nifty to move up further in the short term and could reach to the upside target of 25300 in the near term. Immediate support is placed at 24850.

Sudeep Shah, Head - Technical Research and Derivatives at SBI Securities.
On Tuesday, the benchmark Nifty index continued its upward momentum, closing in the green for the fourth consecutive trading session. This sustained rally reflects growing investor confidence, supported by strong performances across key sectors and broader market participation.
Among the Nifty constituents, Tata Motors, Adani Ports, and Hero MotoCorp emerged as the top gainers, showcasing robust buying interest. On the flip side, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories and Cipla were among the notable laggards. Sectorally, the market breadth was overwhelmingly positive. Barring Nifty Pharma, all other sectoral indices ended the day with gains. Nifty Oil & Gas and Nifty Auto led the charge, reflecting strength in energy and automobile counters.
The rally wasn’t limited to the large-cap space. Broader markets outperformed, with both Nifty Midcap 100 and Nifty Smallcap 100 indices witnessing a sharp surge, underlining strong participation from retail and institutional investors alike. Market breadth remained firmly in favour of the bulls. Out of the Nifty 500 universe, 359 stocks closed in the green, pushing the advance-decline ratio significantly in favour of the advancers — a clear sign of widespread optimism across the board.
Nifty View
The Nifty index continues to exhibit strength on the technical front, trading comfortably above both its short-term and long-term moving averages — a sign of sustained bullish sentiment. The 14-period RSI on the daily chart is on a rising trajectory and remains above its 9-day average, reinforcing the positive momentum.
Given this setup, we believe the index is well-positioned to extend its upward journey in the near term. Key resistance levels to watch are 25150 and 25300, which could be tested if the current momentum persists. On the downside, the support zone is placed between the 24880-24850 level. This range is expected to act as a cushion in case of any short-term pullbacks, keeping the broader trend intact.
Overall, the technical indicators suggest a continuation of the northward move, with dips likely to attract buying interest.
Bank Nifty View
The banking benchmark index, Bank Nifty, also ended on a positive note. Going ahead, the zone of 56000-56100 will act as an important hurdle. Any sustainable move above the level of 56100 will lead to a sharp upside rally upto the level of 56500, followed by 56900 in the short term. While on the downside, the zone of 55500-55400 will act as crucial support for the index.

Today, Indian equity markets closed on a positive note, extending their upward momentum despite cautious global cues. The BSE Sensex gained over 370pts to finish near 81,644, while the NSE Nifty 50 touched the crucial 25,000 mark and closed 24,980. Broader indices outperformed, with midcap and smallcap indices closed in green, reflecting robust sentiment beyond blue chips.
Today's rally was propelled by strong buying in heavyweights such as Reliance Industries, Tata Motors, Adani Ports, and Bharti Airtel. Reliance, in particular, surged over 2.89% after Jio announced a revamp in its tariff structure, while Tata Motors and Bajaj Auto advanced on the back of upbeat auto sales outlook and easing concerns around global supply chains.
Optimism also stemmed from anticipated GST reforms and a recent sovereign credit rating upgrade, which fuelled expectations of higher capital inflows and policy stability.
Positive cues from select global markets, despite a mixed trend in Asia, further supported the mood.
Most sectoral indices ended in the green, with the oil & gas, auto, and media sectors leading the gains. However, pharmaceutical and healthcare stocks lagged, witnessing mild profit booking.

Dilip Parmar – Senior Research Analyst, HDFC Securities
The Indian rupee outperformed among the Asian currencies due risk-on sentiments. The government's focus on growth-oriented policies and a recent credit rating upgrade by a foreign agency have bolstered confidence in the Indian economy. This positive momentum is further supported by the resumption of foreign fund buying, which, along with a technical pullback, has strengthened the rupee against the US dollar.
In the near term, the spot USD/INR exchange rate is expected to find support at 86.80 and face resistance at 87.20.

Mandar Bhojane, Senior Technical & Derivative Analyst, Choice Broking
Indian equity markets ended the day on a positive note, with the Nifty reclaiming the 25,000 mark. The Sensex gained 370.64 points or 0.46% to close at 81644.39, while the Nifty rose 103.7 points or 0.42% to settle at 24,980.65. BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices are up 0.5% each. Among sectors, except pharma, all other sectoral indices are trading in the green with media, auto, oil & gas up 1% each. Ola Electric, Reliance Industries, Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki, Eternal are among most active shares on the NSE.
On the technical front, after a gap-up opening, the Nifty has sustained for two sessions in a sideways-to-bullish trend. Prices are taking support at the 20, 50, 100, and 200 EMAs, indicating strong underlying strength. If the index sustains above 25,050, it has the potential to move towards 25,250 and 25,500 in the coming sessions. Overall, the market continues to show bullish momentum, and any dip is likely to be seen as a buying opportunity. RSI at 55 is trending upwards, indicating strengthening positive momentum.
Bank Nifty, however, continues to underperform, still trading below its recent breakout zone. Immediate resistance is placed at 56,000, a level above which fresh momentum could be expected. On the downside, support lies near 54,995 at the 100 EMA. As long as the index remains capped below 56,000, its trend is likely to stay range-bound to weak compared with the Nifty.
Volatility eased further as India VIX slipped 4.58% to 11.775, reflecting reduced market fear and improved stability. In the options segment, the highest Call open interest is seen at 25,000 and 25,500, marking key resistance zones, while the highest Put open interest is placed at 24,900 and 24,800, indicating strong support levels.
The combined technical and derivatives setup suggests that the market bias remains positive. A decisive close above 25,000 could trigger fresh momentum. Traders are advised to stay cautiously bullish, use declines to accumulate quality stocks, and protect positions with appropriate stop-losses.

The national market continued the renewed momentum, buoyed by expectations of GST rationalisation and a recent upgrade in India's credit rating. Additional optimism came from signs of easing geopolitical tensions between Russia and Ukraine, shifting the near-term outlook from consolidation to a more constructive stance. However, the uptrend may face resistance until greater clarity emerges on US-India trade negotiations.
Notably, small- and mid-cap stocks outperformed, with auto stocks leading gains, driven by hopes that China may address supply concerns related to rare earth magnets.

Comex gold prices poised to reach USD 3,600 by Year-end amid global uncertainty: Ventura
Gold prices are expected to remain elevated in the second half of 2025. This is supported by macroeconomic headwinds, geopolitical tensions, and robust investment demand. Ventura expects Comex Gold to touch US$3,600 by year-end, after hitting a record high of US$3,534.10 on August 7, 2025, surpassing the previous peak of US$3,509.90 set in April 2025.
Over the past 20 years, gold has delivered positive annual returns in 14 calendar years, reinforcing its status as a proven store of value and a hedge against inflation. Recent performance underscores its resilience, with average annual returns of 23% over the last three years compared to 11% for the Nifty 50. In volatile market conditions, gold’s negative correlation to equities has provided effective diversification, cushioning portfolio losses during sell-offs while participating in upswings.

On Monday, spot gold closed flat as speculation grew over a potential ceasefire and peace deal between Russia and Ukraine. Following a high-level meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, U.S. President Donald Trump revealed on Truth Social that he had paused the talks to call Russian President Vladimir Putin, confirming plans for a trilateral summit. Gold also faced pressure from a stronger U.S. dollar, as expectations for a 50-basis-point rate hike faded after hotter-than-expected US Producer Price Index (PPI) data.
Today, gold is trading above $3,340 per ounce as markets await the release of the FOMC meeting minutes and the start of the Jackson Hole Symposium later this week. However, optimism around U.S.-led peace efforts in Ukraine may limit sharp upside in gold prices.
WTI crude oil prices gained 1% yesterday, climbing to $63.80 per barrel, as markets focused on U.S. President Donald Trump’s meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, following an inconclusive U.S.-Russia summit in Alaska. The uptick was also supported by escalating geopolitical tensions, notably Ukraine's increased drone attacks on Russia. Adding to the friction, U.S. trade advisor Peter Navarro criticized India’s continued reliance on Russian oil, calling the practice “opportunistic” and labeling India a “clearinghouse for Russian oil”.
Today, oil prices slipped below $63 per barrel, as investors assessed the potential impact of a possible trilateral meeting between Russia, Ukraine, and the U.S. aimed at negotiating an end to the war in Ukraine. A resolution could potentially lead to the lifting of sanctions on Russian crude, easing global supply concerns.
