Sudeep Shah, Head - Technical and Derivatives Research at SBI Securities
On Monday, the benchmark Nifty index staged a notable intraday recovery after slipping to an early low of 24679. Following the initial weakness, the index steadily advanced throughout the session, ultimately closing near the 25100 mark with a strong gain of 1.06%. On the daily timeframe, Nifty formed a bullish candle accompanied by a lower shadow, highlighting a clear emergence of buying interest at lower levels.
Momentum indicators also reflect early signs of stabilisation. The daily RSI, which had corrected to a low of 30.93, bounced back and is now placed at 39.20, suggesting easing downside pressure and a potential shift toward consolidation or recovery.
Within the Nifty constituents, Power Grid and TMPV emerged as the top outperformers, while Shriram Finance and Axis Bank were the key laggards of the day. Sector-wise, the market breadth remained supportive, with Nifty Oil & Gas, Nifty Auto and Nifty Metal indices leading the gains. In contrast, Nifty IT and Nifty Healthcare ended the session in the red.
The broader market also mirrored the positive sentiment. Both Nifty Midcap 100 and Nifty Smallcap 100 ended with healthy gains. Notably, these indices have been forming candles with long lower shadows for the past two sessions, which indicates that buyers are consistently stepping in at lower levels, reinforcing confidence among mid and small-cap participants.
Market breadth remained favourable as well. The advance/decline ratio tilted decisively in favour of bulls, with 310 stocks from the Nifty 500 universe closing in positive territory. This broad-based recovery suggests improving sentiment and a possible attempt by the market to stabilise after recent volatility.
Nifty View
Going ahead, for Nifty, the zone of 24930-24900 will act as immediate support for the index. While, on the upside, the zone of 25170-25200 will act as crucial hurdle for the index. Any sustainable move above 25200 will lead to extension of pullback rally up to 25350 level in the short term.
Bank Nifty View
Bank Nifty underperformed the frontline indices on Monday but still managed to close in the green. The 50 day EMA zone at 59000–59100 now acts as the immediate resistance. On the downside, 58100–58000 remains the crucial support zone for the index.

Rupak De, Senior Technical Analyst at LKP Securities
After a sharp fall, the Nifty has seen a strong bounce, which is a normal market reaction. However, the broader trend remains weak. As long as the index stays below the 200-DMA, sentiment is likely to remain negative, and any bounce should be used to exit leveraged long positions or to create short positions.
On the upside, immediate resistance is placed at 25,200, while on the downside, support is seen around 24,900.

Shrikant Chouhan, Head Equity Research, Kotak Securities
Today, the benchmark indices witnessed a promising pullback rally. The Nifty ended 263 points higher, while the Sensex was up by 944 points. Among sectors, the Capital Market Index outperformed, rallying over 3 percent, whereas despite strong momentum, the IT index traded into negative territory, shedding nearly 0.50 percent.
Technically, after an early morning intraday dip, the market took support near 24,700/80400 and bounced back sharply. From the day's lowest point, the market rallied over 400/1300 points. Additionally, on intraday charts, it has formed a promising reversal pattern, and on daily charts, it formed a bullish candle, which supports a further uptrend from the current levels.
We are of the view that now, 25,000/81500 and 24,900/81200 will act as immediate support zones for the bulls. Above these levels, a pullback formation is likely to continue, with the market potentially moving up to 25,250/82200 or the 200-day simple moving average (SMA). Further upside could also push the market toward 25,350/82500.
On the flip side, if the market falls below 24,900/81200, sentiment could change. Below this level, traders may prefer to exit their long positions.

The expectations regarding budget was flat, and it came flat as well, so market is recovering from yesterday level. After the sharp sell off seen post the Union Budget 2026, Indian equity markets witnessed a meaningful rebound as investors reassessed the announcements with a calmer lens. The initial panic largely stemmed from concerns around STT hike and lack of big triggers, but once the dust settled, markets began pricing in the absence of any major negative surprise.
The recovery was supported by improvement in macro signals. The rupee strengthened from record lows, aided by rising forex reserves and RBI’s proactive liquidity management through FX swaps. Lower crude oil prices further eased concerns around inflation.
Sectorally, data centre and AI linked stocks saw strong traction following the Budget’s long term tax holiday for global cloud service providers. This announcement reinforced India’s positioning as a structural digital infrastructure hub, driving selective buying in technology, power and infra adjacencies.
Overall, while the Budget lacked immediate triggers, policy continuity, macro stability and selective growth opportunities are supporting the ongoing recovery.

As the Budget volatility subsides, the Indian rupee and domestic equities have emerged as regional outperformers. A combination of cooling commodity prices, enhanced fiscal control, large forex reserves and suspected corporate dollar selling has provided a tailwind for the local currency.
In the near term, the USDINR spot is likely to consolidate within a tight range, finding support at 91.10 and facing resistance near 91.85.

Vinod Nair, Head of Research, Geojit Investments
The market witnessed a smart recovery following yesterday’s volatile session due to the impact of the STT hike on F&O and the government’s higher borrowing plan for FY27. At the same time, the Budget’s policy continuity with a clear emphasis on growth and fiscal prudence has helped reinforce confidence in the medium to long term earnings outlook.
A sharp decline in global crude oil prices has also offered some relief, reflecting signs of easing geopolitical tensions between the US and Iran. Nevertheless, in the near term, market mood is expected to stay cautious due to below estimate Q3 earnings and ongoing global tensions.

The Union Budget 2026–27 makes a meaningful move toward addressing one of healthcare’s biggest challenges—the shortage of skilled allied and healthcare professionals. A gap which continues to impact care quality and patient outcomes.
The ₹1,000 crore allocation to upgrade and establish new institutions for allied and healthcare professionals in both the public and private sectors – across 10 selected disciplines, including optometry, radiology, anesthesia, OT technology, applied psychology, and behavioral health, is a step in the right direction.
This reflects a clear shift from expanding infrastructure to investing in the people who deliver care. However, the real impact will depend on how effectively this training turns into job-ready talent. Close collaboration with hospitals, diagnostics players, and care providers will be essential to ensure students gain real-world experience, practical skills, and clear career pathways, so this expanded workforce can be absorbed meaningfully into the healthcare system.

Shrikant Chouhan, Head Equity Research, Kotak Securities
The benchmark indices witnessed a volatile trading session. After a roller coaster activity, the Nifty ended 495 points lower, while the Sensex was down by 1546 points. Among sectors, almost all the major sectoral indices were traded in the red, but the Capital Market, Defence, and PSU Banks indices lost the most, shedding over 5 percent
Technically, after a sharp intraday dip in the second half of the day, the market trimmed some losses. From the day's lows, the market bounced back sharply. On daily charts, it has formed a long bearish candle, and it is currently trading below the 200-day SMA (Simple Moving Average), which is largely negative.
We are of the view that the short-term market texture is volatile, and volatility is likely to continue in the near future. Hence, level-based trading would be the ideal strategy for day traders. On the higher side, 25,000/81300 would act as a crucial resistance zone. As long as the market is trading below this level, weak sentiment is likely to prevail.
On the downside, the correction wave is likely to continue till 24650-24600/80100-79900. Further downside may also continue, which could drag the index till 24500-24300/79600-79000. On the flip side, above 25,000/81300, the market could move up to 25,200/81900 or the 200-day SMA.

Venkatesh Balasubramaniam, MD & Head of Research, JM Financial Institutional Securities
Budget FY27 strikes a careful balance between growth support and fiscal discipline. It reinforces macroeconomic stability through a credible path of fiscal consolidation while sustaining a strong public capex push focused on infrastructure, manufacturing and defence. This makes the Budget clearly positive for the economy, as it strengthens medium-term growth drivers, supports domestic manufacturing and enhances India’s competitiveness in services such as IT and digital infrastructure.
However, the market impact is mixed. Higher government borrowings and an increase in derivatives transaction taxes could weigh on bond yields, banks, NBFCs and market-linked businesses in the near term. While measures like buyback tax rationalisation provide some relief, the Budget prioritises long-term economic strength over short-term market sentiment.
