Today, the benchmark indices experienced selling pressure at higher levels. The Nifty closed 73 points lower, while the Sensex was down by 308 points. Among sectors, intraday buying interest was seen in selective Defence stocks, whereas the capital market index lost the most, shedding over 1 percent. Technically, after an early morning selloff, the market registered range-bound activity throughout the day. We believe that the market is currently exhibiting non-directional activity, with traders possibly waiting for either side to break out.
For day traders, the levels of 24,700/81,000 will act as important resistance zones. Above these levels, a pullback could continue up to 24,850-24,900 / 81,500-81,600. On the downside, 24,550-24,500 / 80,500-80,300 will serve as key support zones. Below these levels, the market could slip further to 24,350-24,300 / 80,000-79,700. Given the current market texture of non-directional movement, level-based trading would be the ideal strategy for day traders

Vaibhav Vidwani, Research Analyst at Bonanza
Today, Indian stock market ended in the red note, as the Sensex closed 308 points lower and the Nifty ended below the 24,649 mark. Benchmark indices fell sharply amid escalated geopolitical tensions after US President Donald Trump announced plans to substantially hike tariffs on Indian goods, specifically as retaliation for India’s continued oil imports from Russia. This sudden announcement triggered widespread caution and risk-off sentiment among investors, leading to profit-booking in the broader market.
Key sectors such as oil & gas, IT, and FMCG led the declines, with heavyweights like ICICI Bank, Tech Mahindra, Reliance Industries, Infosys, Asian Paints, and Adani Ports among the top laggards. Conversely, some resilience was seen in auto stocks and metal stocks, which limited broader losses.

Despite positive global cues, domestic markets remained rangebound in negative territory. Oil & gas stocks led the decline amid concerns about future import restrictions on Russian oil. Weakness persisted on Pharma and IT stocks which are among the largest exporters to the US. Sentiment was also weighed by INR depreciation. In contrast, auto stocks continue to gain traction from July volumes.
Investors are now awaiting the upcoming RBI policy decision, where market has marginal expectations of a rate cut, in the near-term. Currently, the preferences of investors are for domestic consumption-driven stocks and sectors holding limited volatility to external factors.

Ajit Mishra – SVP, Research, Religare Broking
Markets reversed Monday’s gains and lost nearly half a percent, continuing the prevailing corrective trend. After an initial downtick, the Nifty moved in a narrow range and finally settled at 24,649.55 level. Most sectors ended in the red, with pharma, FMCG, and realty among the top losers. The broader indices also witnessed a decline, shedding between 0.21% and 0.43%.
Lingering uncertainty over the tariff situation, following recent statements from the US President, along with a lack of major positive surprises from the earnings season, has been weighing on market sentiment. All eyes are now on the outcome of the upcoming MPC meeting. While the committee is expected to hold rates steady amid global uncertainties, the tone of their commentary will be crucial. Amid this corrective phase, select stocks across sectors are showing noticeable strength and offering buying opportunities. Participants should therefore maintain a stock-specific approach and focus on prudent position sizing.

Rupee traded weak at 87.80 as panic gripped markets following a late-evening post by the US President hinting at higher tariffs on India. Additionally, expectations that the US may pressure India to reduce Russian oil imports sparked fears of a higher import bill, pushing the rupee briefly below the 88.00 mark overnight.
Some recovery was seen after the Ministry of External Affairs clarified India’s stance on crude purchases. However, the ongoing friction between the US and India on trade and energy is likely to keep the rupee volatile and under pressure. The rupee is expected to trade in the 87.40–88.25 range.

Nifty traded with a negative bias throughout the day, remaining below the 50EMA. On the daily chart as well, the index is comfortably placed below the 50EMA.
The current range is 24,400–24,850, and in the short term, the index is likely to remain within this band. Only a decisive move beyond this range might determine the next course of action for the market.

If the RBI surprises markets with an unexpected rate cut, the market reaction would likely be mixed, though the interpretation would depend heavily on the underlying economic context.
Key sectors will get impacted through reduced borrowing costs:
Banking sector: Benefits from increased loan demand, though margins will face short-term pressure which will support bears in nears term, it will increase margin stress for next one to two quarters. As bank have high contribution in major index it will support bears in near term.
Rate cuts combined with measures like CRR reductions inject significant liquidity into the banking system, encouraging lending and potentially boosting economic activity.
That will create mix reaction in market as it will support growth in other sectors:
Real estate: Lower home loan rates stimulate housing demand
Automobiles: Cheaper vehicle financing boosts consumer purchases
NBFCs and financial services: Lower funding costs improve profitability

Sourav Choudhary, Managing Director – Raghunath Capital
The CP PLUS parent and a leading player in India's electronic security space, delivered a spectacular stock market debut, listing at over Rs 1,015—up 51% from its IPO price of Rs 675. But after the initial euphoria, investors now turn to a more fundamental question: Is there value at current levels?
At the listing price, Aditya Infotech trades at a P/E multiple of ~52× FY25 projected earnings, a notable premium to peers in the hardware and surveillance equipment space. While its brand strength, wide distribution network, and government-aligned product portfolio justify a valuation premium, this leaves limited room for near-term upside, unless growth accelerates beyond forecasts.
The company posted a net profit of Rs 351 crore on revenues of Rs 3,112 crore in FY25, with consistent double-digit ROCE and strong operating cash flows. Analysts expect earnings to grow at a CAGR of 22–25% over the next 3 years, driven by smart city deployments, public sector demand, and continued home-security adoption.
However, import dependency on China and potential margin compression remain key risks. Any forex volatility or policy shifts on electronics sourcing could impact profitability.
Despite these risks, many see Aditya Infotech as a structural play on India’s security-tech upcycle, with room to scale via product innovation, direct-to-retail expansion, and AI-integrated surveillance.
Verdict: While short-term investors may book partial profits post-listing, long-term investors may consider accumulating on dips, particularly if the stock cools toward the Rs 940–980 range, aligning valuations closer to sustainable earnings growth.

Despite ongoing market volatility, Sri Lotus Developers and Realty witnessed robust subscription demand, primarily led by Qualified Institutional Buyers (QIBs), followed by strong participation from retail and High Net-worth Individuals (HNIs). This enthusiastic response reflects investor confidence in the company's focused strategy and market positioning.
As a Mumbai-based real estate developer operating in the ultra-luxury and luxury housing segment, with a solid pipeline of redevelopment projects, Sri Lotus is well-placed to benefit from the structural growth drivers within Mumbai’s premium real estate market.
Given the high subscription levels, we expect a healthy listing gain in the range of 20–25% or more, contingent on overall market sentiment on the listing day. From a long-term investment standpoint, we believe Sri Lotus offers a compelling opportunity to participate in Mumbai’s premium residential growth story. Hence, we recommend allotted investors to hold for the long term, while non-allotted investors may adopt a wait & watch approach for any potential entry opportunity in case of a post-listing dip.
