Today, the benchmark indices witnessed a volatile trading session. After a roller-coaster activity, the Nifty ended 20 points lower, while the Sensex was down by 62 points. Among sectors, the PSU Bank Index was the top gainer, rallying over 1.89 percent, whereas the Defence index was the top looser, shed 1.20 percent.
Technically, after a positive open, the market took resistance near 24,800/80800 and, due to profit booking at higher levels, it corrected sharply. From the day's highest point, it shed nearly 200 /600 points. In addition, on daily charts, it has formed a bearish candle, and on intraday charts, it continues to show a lower top formation, which is largely negative.
We are of the view that the short-term market outlook is weak, but since it is oversold, a strong possibility of a quick pullback rally cannot be ruled out. For day traders, 24,800/80800 would act as an immediate resistance zone. If the market successfully clears this zone, it could bounce back up to 24,900-24925/81000-81300. On the other side, below 24,600/80300, the selling pressure is likely to accelerate. Below this level, it could retest the levels of 24,500–24,450/80000-79800.

Nifty continued to face selling pressure for the seventh day on trot on Monday and closed the day with minor loss amidst high volatility. After opening on a positive note, the market made an attempt to move up in the early part of the session. Selling pressure has emerged on every intraday rise on Monday and Nifty finally closed near the day's low.
A reasonable negative candle was formed on the daily chart with upper shadow. Technically, this market action indicates an inability of bulls to sustain the bounce back and this also signal possibility of some more weakness in the coming sessions.
Nifty is currently nearing an important support zone of around 24500-24400 levels (previous swing lows and 200day EMA) and this area could be reached in the next few sessions. However, any sustainable move above the hurdle of 24800-24900 levels could confirm near term bottom reversal pattern.

Markets started the week on a volatile note and ended almost unchanged, taking a breather after the recent slide. Following a flat start, the Nifty oscillated sharply on both sides before finally settling at 24,634.90. On the sectoral front, a mixed trend kept traders engaged, with realty, energy, and metal posting gains, while auto and FMCG ended muted. In line with the benchmark, the broader indices also closed on a flat note.
On one hand, the overhang of recent U.S. policy actions has eased slightly; however, persistent foreign fund outflows and caution ahead of the MPC meeting continue to weigh on sentiment.
We believe oversold positions may now lead to some consolidation in the Nifty, with strong support around the 24,400–24,500 zone and resistance placed at 24,800–25,000. In the meantime, participants should focus on selective stock opportunities aligned with sectoral trends while keeping position sizes under check.

Today, the Indian markets closed flat, following an extremely volatile session marked by alternating rallies and declines throughout the trading day. The Sensex ended at 80,364.94, down 62 points (-0.08%), while the Nifty 50 fell 19.8 points (-0.08%) to close at 24,634.90. This muted close comes after a week of heavy selling, with most sectors remaining under pressure due to global and domestic uncertainties.
The flat close can largely be attributed to the absence of new positive triggers and apprehension over possible adverse developments. President Trump’s announcement of steep tariffs on Indian pharmaceutical exports weighed on sentiment, raising fears of earnings pressure for key pharma players.
Additionally, speculation about stricter H1-B visa norms impacted frontline IT stocks and kept a lid on broader market enthusiasm. Despite early gains in PSU banks, energy, and select realty stocks, profit booking in heavyweights especially in private banking names and large-cap IT erased much of the intraday upmove. Midcap indices saw selective buying, but smallcaps underperformed, further adding to the indecisive undertone.
Looking ahead, market participants will be keenly watching the RBI Monetary Policy Committee meeting that commenced today. Consensus expectations suggest RBI will maintain rates but deliver a dovish message, balancing inflation risks against the need to support growth. However, investors remain cautious, awaiting positive news ontrade talks with the US or policy clarity from the RBI, which could determine whether any bounce sustains or further weakness ensues.

On Monday, Nifty witnessed a mild rebound but faced selling pressure near its 20-EMA on the hourly chart, ending the day with a weak close on the daily chart.
Derivative data showed put writing at 24,600 and 24,500 strikes, highlighting immediate support zones, while call writers at 24,700 and 24,800 indicated resistance. Based on these technical and derivative cues, the index is likely to trade in a short-term range of 24,500–24,850 with volatility and a sideways-to-bearish undertone. A sustained move above its 50-day EMA is needed to turn bullish.

The domestic market concluded a volatile session on a flat note as investors turned more cautious ahead of a holiday-led truncated week and continued FII selling. Lack of clarity in the US-India trade deal and prolonging pressure on IT & pharma indices are near-term concerns for the market.
Investors await the RBI policy outcome this week; the central bank is expected to keep the rates unchanged to contain volatility in the rupee. The supportive fiscal measures and a stronger demand outlook for H2FY26 may lead the central bank to upgrade its FY26 GDP growth forecast.

The Indian Rupee settled at a record low, exhibiting marked underperformance among Asian currencies. This depreciation is attributable to sustained month-end demand for the US Dollar and significant outflows of foreign institutional funds from domestic equity markets, collectively dampening investor sentiment.
In the near-term outlook for the spot USD/INR pair remains bullish with critical support at 88.25 and key resistance at 89.10.

Trivesh D, COO, Tradejini
Oil prices are once again at a key juncture. Crude is close to the resistance at $65–66 after a prolonged sideways phase, but unless it decisively moves above $70, the upside potential seems limited. The current consolidation is fragile, failure to hold these levels could drag prices back toward $61.72, with risks extending further to $57. On the other hand, only a sustained move above $70 would validate the beginning of a new bullish leg.
The recent OPEC+ announcement increases the uncertainty, as the group has committed to another supply hike of 137,000 barrels a day in October, with a possible follow-up in November. While these increments are smaller compared to earlier rounds, the broader direction is clear, supply is inching higher. The concern for the market is not just today’s supply bump, but the cumulative effect. By 2026, it is predicted that global oil production will be in short supply, preparing for a surplus.
Investors should be mindful that while near-term volatility could push crude higher on sentiment or temporary disruptions, the structural trend is pointing toward a softer oil market ahead.

Manav Modi, Analyst – Precious Metal -Research, Motilal Oswal Financial Services
Gold prices rose to hover near an all-time high; while Silver breached the psychological mark of $45 on COMEX, supported by a weaker dollar and growing expectations that the Federal Reserve is likely to continue with interest rate cuts later this year and surge in overall demand.
Dollar index inched slightly higher hovering around 98 however, no major impact was seen on prices. On data front, US GDP was reported better than expectations while, U.S. Commerce Department said its Personal Consumption Expenditures Price Index (PCE) rose 0.3% in August, v/s the prior 0.2% rise in July, in line with expectations. Despite mixed comments from Fed officials and Fed chair, rate cut expectations for this year did not budge. Traders are currently pricing in a 90% chance of a Fed cut in October, with around a 65% probability of another in December. Reports regarding US shut down, also led to strong safe haven buying, if the debt bill is not passed before Oct. 1st, it could push bullion further.
Physical gold demand in China weakened further last week, with discounts hitting multi-year lows, while steady buying persisted in other major Asian hubs despite the high prices in anticipation of further gains. SPDR holdings rose 0.89% to 1,005.72 tonnes on Friday from 996.85 tonnes on Thursday. Focus now shifts to US jobs market data, ISM manufacturing PMI for further clues on the economy's health, scheduled later this week.

Sensex | Rajiv Sabrawal:at Tata Capital IPO conference
In this business, getting the money at the lowest cost of fund is difficult. But as the brand we are, and the credit rating we enjoy, it's been advantageous.
We are lucky to be born in this country that demonstrates the highest growth rate among large economies. The credit to GDP ratio is still lower than other economies. We also have an opportunity to grow because of the the headroom in penetration of credit.
Over the last few years, we have benefited from the fact that NPAs are lower. The GST cut is a bold initiative and I'm sure the effect will be positive in the coming quarters, adding to the growth.
