Rupak De, Senior Technical Analyst at LKP Securities
The daily chart of the Nifty shows the formation of a hammer pattern, which is generally considered a bullish reversal signal. Key support lies at 25,300, and as long as the index remains above this level, bullish sentiment is expected to persist, with the potential for a swift rebound.
On the higher side, the index could advance towards 25,800–26,100 in the near term.
Immediate resistance is placed at 25,500; a breakout above this level could further strengthen the upward momentum.

Global equity markets were broadly strong, led by strong performance of the US market over the past week. The US markets were buoyed by (1) stronger-than-expected NFP reports, (2) passing of the GOP’s “One Big Beautiful Bill” and (3) a trade deal with Vietnam, while trade negotiations with other major economies remained in limbo. Domestic sentiments were mixed, with the Nifty-50 Index and Sensex marginally down over the past week, with markets awaiting for (1) the outcome of India-US trade negotiations and (2) Q1FY26 earnings prints.
Healthcare (+2%), consumer durable (+2.6%) and oil & gas (+1.5%) were the top gainers, while realty (-2.5%), banks (-1.4%) and FMCG (-0.7%) delivered a large underperformance relative to the broader indices. On the macro front, GST collections for May 2025 moderated to +6.2% yoy after reporting strong prints over March-April 2025. Both FIIs and DIIs were net buyers during the week.
In Global, the United States economy has added 147,000 jobs in June, beating analyst expectations, as the labour market remains stable despite economic uncertainty driven by President Donald Trump’s policies. Also the House of Representatives on Thursday passed President Donald Trump’s massive tax-and-spending bill, delivering him a major political victory and teeing him up to enshrine much of his sweeping domestic agenda into law. Donald Trump’s sweeping tax and spending package could bolster the U.S. Space Force’s budget. Apple iPhone sales in China rose in the second quarter of the year for the first time in two years.

Markets remained volatile for yet another session and ended on a flat note. The tone was negative in the first half; however, a decent recovery in heavyweight stocks pared all the losses as the day progressed, helping the index close near the day’s high at the 25,461 level. A mixed trend persisted across sectors, with realty, IT, and pharma edging higher, while metal and auto ended in the red. The broader indices moved in line with the benchmark and also closed nearly unchanged amid volatility.
With all eyes on the impending US-India trade deal as the tariff deadline approaches, participants are hopeful for a favorable outcome, which could provide the much-needed trigger for the next leg of the market up move.
We recommend maintaining a “buy on dips” approach until the Nifty decisively breaks below the 25,200 level, with a strong focus on stock selection.
Despite the recent outperformance, the broader indices are still holding up well; however, one should remain cautious, given the potential for profit booking at higher levels.

Vaibhav Vidwani, Research Analyst at Bonanza
Today, the Indian stock market closed with modest gains, reflecting cautious optimism amid ongoing global and domestic developments. The Sensex ended at 83,432 points, up 193 points (+0.23%), while the Nifty 50 closed at 25,461. The positive closing was driven by sustained domestic buying interest, particularly from Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs).
Key sectors like Realty and Pharma outperformed, gaining 0.9% and 0.8% respectively, while selective buying was seen in FMCG and Auto stocks. Investor sentiment remained cautious due to uncertainties surrounding the imminent US tariff deadline on July 9 and regulatory actions by SEBI, including a notable interim ban on US quant firm Jane Street for alleged market manipulation. Despite these concerns, the market maintained stability above critical support levels. The India VIX hovered near a nine-month low at around 12.32, indicating low volatility and subdued risk appetite.

Vinod Nair, Head of Research, Geojit Investments
The Indian market is experiencing a pause as investors adopt a wait-and-watch strategy ahead of the impending US tariff deadline with mixed global cues.
Ongoing FII outflows reflect a risk-off approach, while DII inflows are offering partial support. Following the recent rally, main indices are hovering near peak valuation levels, limiting further upside, which is highly dependent on Q1 earnings and details of the trade deal. In the mid- and small-cap space, the market has shifted to being more stock-specific following the recent recovery.

Viram Shah, Founder & CEO, Vested Finance
Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill” seems like a short-term economic stimulus at the expense of long-term fiscal health. While the immediate effects—such as corporate tax cuts and increased consumer spending—are likely to boost GDP, the deeper implications need to be monitored. Markets may initially respond positively to higher corporate profits, investors should prepare for a reckoning when bond markets could higher yields in response to America’s worsening fiscal outlook.
In the near term, U.S. manufacturing and industrial sectors stand to gain from full expensing of equipment, and energy companies could benefit from looser regulations. However, the bill’s neglect—and in some cases reversal—of clean energy initiatives risks ceding technological leadership to other countries including India. The policy also favors luxury goods retailers, as wealthier individuals will have more disposable income, but companies serving low-income communities, particularly in healthcare and social services could face adverse effects.

Indian Rupee declined on weak domestic markets and uncertainty over trade tariffs. However, weak US Dollar and a decline in crude oil prices tamed the domestic currency. US Dollar non farm payroll topped forecast. It unexpectedly added 147,000 jobs in June 2025 vs forecast of 111,000 jobs.
Jobs in May 2025 was revised upwards to 144,000 jobs from 139,000 previously reported. ISM Services PMI expanded to 50.8 in June, in line with forecast and higher than the previous month’s reading of 49.9.
We expect Rupee to gains on falling US Dollar and weak tone in crude oil. However, uncertainty over trade tariff may cap sharp gains. US markets will remain closed on Independence Day holiday. USDINR spot price is expected to trade in a range of Rs 85.10 to Rs 85.70.
