Ajit Mishra – SVP, Research, Religare Broking
Markets extended gains on Tuesday, rising nearly half a percent in a range-bound session on the weekly expiry day. After opening firm, the index faced resistance around the 24,900 mark and then moved sideways till the close. Sector-wise, IT led the advance on strong buying interest, followed by pharma and FMCG, while realty and energy remained subdued. Broader market participation also continued, with midcap and smallcap indices posting modest gains.
Market sentiment was largely buoyed by IT stocks, which staged a strong rebound. The rally was led by Infosys, which surged over 4% after the company announced that its board would consider a share buyback later this week.
We maintain a positive yet cautious outlook on the Nifty and suggest closely tracking the performance of banking and IT majors for further cues. Traders should continue with a “buy on dips” approach in the leading sectors while ensuring a favorable risk-reward balance.

Vaibhav Vidwani, Research Analyst at Bonanza
Today, the Indian stock market closed on a positive note, with both the Nifty 50 and Sensex ending higher buoyed mainly by robust gains in the IT sector, alongside favourable global cues and renewed investor confidence in large cap names. The Nifty 50 settled at 24,868.6, rising 95 points (+0.39%), while the Sensex closed at 81,101.32, up 314 points (+0.39%).
The positive close was propelled by strong buying in IT stocks, with the Nifty IT index rallying 2.8%. The rally gained traction after Infosys announced a proposed share buyback, which improved sentiment across the sector.
Global equity optimism, on account of expectations for US Federal Reserve interest rate cuts and strong recent performances of US tech indices like Nasdaq, created a tailwind for domestic technology stocks. Additionally, a steady rupee and stable oil prices added to the upbeat market mood. Sectoral rotation saw midcaps remain subdued and profit-booking in autos after Monday’s sharp rally.
Broad-based gains in IT, pharma, and FMCG stocks lifted the benchmarks, while realty, auto, and oil & gas sectors saw some selling. Market breadth was mixed, while large caps shone, midcap and smallcap participation was muted. Investors are closely watching upcoming inflation data from India and the US for clues on the Federal Reserve’s rate outlook, which will remain key for short term direction.
The proposed second weekly derivatives expiry on Nifty supports current volumes and volatility. With a positive undertone and sectoral rotation fueling resilience in large caps, near term market trajectory is likely to hinge on global monetary signals and domestic macro numbers.

Sudeep Shah, Head - Technical Research and Derivatives at SBI Securities
On the weekly expiry day, the benchmark Nifty index remained largely range-bound, oscillating within a narrow band of just 78 points — marking its tightest intraday range since August 14, 2025. This subdued movement reflects a phase of consolidation as traders remained cautious. Finally, the Nifty ended at the 24873 level a gain of 0.40%.
Among the Nifty constituents, Infosys and Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories emerged as the top gainers, buoyed by sectoral strength and stock-specific triggers. On the flip side, Trent and Eternal were the biggest laggards. Among the sectoral indices, Nifty IT and Nifty Pharma were top gainers. While, Nifty Realty and Nifty Oil & Gas were the top losers.
The broader markets also mirrored the benchmark’s muted tone. Nifty Midcap and Nifty Smallcap 100 indices traded in a narrow range for the second consecutive session, indicating a wait-and-watch approach from investors. The advance-decline ratio remained flat, highlighting the lack of broad-based participation. Notably, 250 stocks from the Nifty 500 universe ended unchanged, underscoring the overall market indecisiveness.
Nifty View
Technically, the index formed a Doji candle, indicating indecision among market participants. The pattern suggests a tug-of-war between bulls and bears, with neither side gaining a decisive edge throughout the session. All key moving averages are currently trading flat, indicating a lack of momentum in either direction. Additionally, the daily RSI remains in a sideways zone, as per RSI range shift rules, further confirming the absence of a strong trend.
Going ahead, the zone of 24970-25000 will act as an immediate hurdle for the index. While, on the downside, the zone of 24730-24700 will act as crucial support. A decisive move on either side will lead to a trending move in the index.
Bank Nifty View
The banking benchmark Bank Nifty also witnessed a lackluster session, trading within a narrow range of just 271 points — its lowest daily range since August 20. The index continues to trade comfortably below its 20-day, 50-day, and 100-day exponential moving averages, indicating sustained weakness. The daily RSI is in the bearish zone, as per RSI range shift rules, suggesting that downside risks remain elevated unless a strong reversal emerges.
Talking about crucial levels, the zone of 54400-54500 will act as an immediate hurdle for the index. While, on the downside, the zone of 53800-53700 will act as crucial support for the index. If the index slips below the 53700 level, then the next crucial support is placed at the 53200 level.

Vinod Nair, Head of Research, Geojit Investments
The domestic equity market edged higher today, buoyed by positive global cues, with a notable rebound in IT stocks linked to a buyback announcement from Infosys despite prevailing headwinds. Conversely, auto stocks came under pressure due to profit booking after recent gains on GST rationalisation. The market sentiment is likely to remain range-bound amid lingering uncertainties over global trade negotiations. However, rising prospects of a FED rate cut, along with supportive domestic macros, may help sustain optimism in the short term.

Rupee traded positive with gains of 0.18% at 88.14 as Fed rate cut expectations kept the dollar weak. The tariff-driven weakness in rupee now appears to be largely priced in unless fresh developments emerge from the US side.
Crude prices remained stable, while ongoing US–India trade talks provided some relief to sentiment.
Going ahead, rupee is likely to stay within a range of 87.75–88.50, with a decisive break below 87.75 opening room for a rally towards 87.10 levels, while resistance near 88.50 caps the upside.

Rajan Shinde, Research Analyst, Mehta Equities
We believe Urban Company Ltd’s IPO offers investors an opportunity to participate in India’s leading tech-enabled home and beauty services platform, with proven scalability across 12,000+ micro-markets in India and select international markets.
We think its hyperlocal model drives efficiency, network effects and high engagement, while continued investments in professional training, retention and technology (AI-driven recommendations, operational tools and products like ‘Native’ and ‘Co-Pilot’) strengthen its competitive moat. By looking at the financials, Urban Company has delivered robust growth, with revenue from operations rising 30.1% in FY2024 and 38.2% in FY2025, alongside a turnaround to net profit of Rs 239.8 crore (including deferred tax gains), reflecting operational leverage and improved unit economics.
On valuation parse at the upper price band of Rs 103, the issue is asking for a market cap of Rs 14790 crorre. Based on FY2026e annualized earnings and the fully diluted post-IPO capital, the company is asking a Market Cap-to-Sales multiple of ~10x, which appears fully priced given current financials. However, we believe the company may command a premium valuation compared to India’s other internet tech peers, driven by its stronger unit economics, premium service mix and deeper supply-side integration.
These factors, coupled with its early leadership in a large and underpenetrated services market, position it for a scalable and profitable growth trajectory. A sustained high growth and margin expansion are essential to justify this valuation, leaving limited room for near-term. Hence, we recommend risk-tolerant investors seeking exposure to the rapidly expanding home services sector to ‘SUBSCRIBE WITH RISK” the Urban Company Ltd IPO for a long-term perspective only.
