On the chart structure, Bank Nifty has witnessed a falling trendline breakout on the daily chart and is consolidating at higher levels, while sustaining above its short-term 50 SMA on the hourly timeframe. The daily RSI is in a bullish crossover mode with a strong placement around 65, indicating positive momentum.
On the hourly chart, the index continues to trade above its 50 SMA, reinforcing strength. A buy-on-dips strategy should be maintained as long as the index holds above 59300. Immediate support is placed at 59800, while resistance is seen near 60500 levels.

Today, profit booking continues at higher levels, and the Nifty ends 72 points lower, while the Sensex was down by 376 points. Among sectors, the Pharma and Healthcare indices outperformed today, both rallying over 1.5 percent, whereas the Oil and Gas Index lost the most, shedding 1.80 percent. Technically, after an early morning intraday rally, the market registered profit booking again at higher levels.
We are of the view that the intraday market formation is still on the weaker side, but a fresh selloff is possible only after the breach of 26,100/84800. Below this level, the market could slip to 26,000-25,950/84500-84350. On the flip side, 26,250/85300 would be the immediate resistance zone for the bulls. Above this, the market could bounce back up to 26,350-26,380/85500-85700.

The Nifty has slipped as weakness continues to prevail after the formation of a new lifetime high yesterday. On the lower end, it found intraday support around 26100. The trend looks likely to remain range-bound in the near term. Going forward, a sustained rally may emerge upon a maneuvering effort by bulls to take the Nifty above 26300. On the downside, support is placed at 26000.

Dilip Parmar – Senior Research Analyst, HDFC Securities
The Indian rupee appreciated after four days fall, was largely a tactical move driven by foreign bank dollar supply and a tentative return of inflows from foreign funds. However, the currency remains vulnerable to the structural mismatch between dollar demand from importers and limited supply persists.
Looking ahead to next week, the market is essentially waiting for a clear signal from either the RBI or a breakthrough in global trade discussions. The RBI is set to conduct a massive $10 billion Buy/Sell USDINR Swap to alleviate domestic liquidity tightness—a move that provides rupee cash to banks but technically involves central bank dollar buying, which can act as a catalyst for the pair.
The trend remains neutral-to-bullish for the spot USDINR as long as the spot remains above 89.90.

Ross Maxwell, Global Strategy Operations Lead, VT Markets
If tensions increase and the US escalates through a further military strike on Venezuela it would create another significant geopolitical shock. It would likely create a more protracted conflict and therefore would impact investor behaviour and influence gold and silver well into 2026.
Such an escalation would heighten global risk aversion, particularly given Venezuela’s strategic role in energy markets and its alliances with non-Western powers such as China. Gold traditionally benefits from geopolitical stress due to its status as a safe-haven asset, and a US-Venezuela conflict could accelerate central bank and institutional demand as investors seek protection against currency volatility, sanctions risk, and potential disruptions to global trade.
The impact on silver would be more complex. In the short term, rising uncertainty would likely mean silver moves higher alongside gold, but its position linked to strong industrial demand means that prolonged instability or a slowdown in global growth could weigh on price relative to gold.
Looking toward 2026, sustained tensions involving the US could reinforce the broader trend of de-dollarisation and diversification of reserves, again supporting higher gold prices. Inflationary pressures stemming from energy supply disruptions or expanded defence spending could further enhance gold’s appeal as an inflation hedge.
Overall, a US attack on Venezuela would likely be another bullish catalyst for gold through 2026, while silver could experience higher volatility, balancing its safe-haven role against global growth and industrial demand.

Vinod Nair, Head of Research, Geojit Investments
One of the key factors for India to perform well going forward is finalising a trade deal with the US. Over the past 2-3 months, the market has been keenly anticipating the capping of tariffs at 25% from the current 50% and the subsequent finalisation of the full deal. However, persistent negative rhetoric from Trump's is expected to have a detrimental effect on India's stock market performance.
On a positive note, till date no significant negative impact is visible on exports, thanks to the resilience of Indian products and services. Nevertheless, if this situation persists, it will harm India's future export outlook, suggesting that the Trump administration is not satisfied by the action taken by India.

Nikunj Saraf, CEO, Choice Wealth
As India prepares for the Union Budget 2026-27, the focus must be on balancing growth with fiscal sustainability. With strong GDP momentum and controlled inflation, the government has a unique opportunity to support capital expenditure, MSME growth, and new-age sectors such as AI, digital infrastructure and clean tech — areas that will define competitiveness over the next decade. At the same time, tax simplification and targeted relief for the middle class and entrepreneurs can drive consumption, broaden the tax base, and unlock long-term investment.
A forward-looking Budget that anchors structural reform while ensuring inclusive growth will not only boost investor confidence but also accelerate India’s journey toward a developed economy by 2047.
