Sudeep Shah, Head - Technical Research and Derivatives at SBI Securities

On Monday, the benchmark index Nifty resumed its northward journey after two sessions of profit booking, buoyed by improving global sentiment. Easing U.S.-China trade tensions and cooler-than-expected U.S. inflation data reinforced market expectations that the U.S. Federal Reserve could cut interest rates by another 50 basis points before year-end. The upbeat global cues provided a strong backdrop for domestic equities, helping markets extend their gains through the session.

Finally, the Nifty closed above the 25950 mark, adding 0.66% for the day, reflecting renewed buying interest across key sectors.

Among the Nifty constituents, Grasim Industries, SBI Life, and Bharti Airtel led the gainers’ list, while Kotak Mahindra Bank and BEL witnessed mild selling pressure and ended in the red.

Sectorally, the market breadth remained largely positive. Except for Nifty Media and Pharma, all major sectoral indices ended higher. Strong momentum was seen in PSU Bank, Oil & Gas, and Realty spaces, which outperformed and led the day’s advance.

The broader market also outshone the frontline indices, with both the Nifty Midcap 100 and Nifty Smallcap 100 indices delivering stronger gains. The advance-decline ratio remained firmly in favour of the bulls — out of the Nifty 500 universe, 296 stocks closed in the green, underscoring robust participation across the board.

Nifty View

The benchmark index Nifty ended on a positive note after two consecutive sessions of profit booking, signalling a return of bullish momentum. On the daily chart, the index has formed a bullish candle with a minor upper shadow, indicating sustained buying interest at lower levels.

With prices comfortably trading above key moving averages, the overall trend remains constructive. The daily RSI continues to hover in the bullish zone, suggesting underlying strength and room for further upside if follow-through buying emerges.

Talking about crucial levels, the zone of 26070-26100 will act as a crucial hurdle for the index. Any sustainable move above 26100 will lead to a sharp upside rally upto the 26250 level. While, on the downside, the zone of 25830-25800 will act as important support for the index.

Bank Nifty View

The banking benchmark index Bank Nifty also closed on a positive note after two sessions of profit booking, extending its dominant uptrend. Trading at all-time high levels, the index continues to exhibit strong bullish undertones, with all major moving averages and momentum indicators aligned in favour of the bulls.

Going ahead, the zone of 58500–58600 is likely to act as a crucial resistance area for the index. A decisive breakout and sustained move above 58600 could trigger a sharp upside rally towards 59100, followed by 59500 in the near term. On the flip side, the zone of 57700–57600 is expected to offer strong support, and any dip towards this area may attract buying interest.

Abhinav Tiwari, Research Analyst at Bonanza

Today, Indian equity benchmarks closed on a strong note with the Nifty 50 gaining 0.66% to end at 25,966 and the Sensex rising 0.67% to 84,779. Midcap and smallcap indices also participated in the rally, adding 1% and 0.93% respectively.

The primary driver behind today's positive closing was renewed optimism about potential US Federal Reserve rate cuts following softer than expected US inflation data. Additionally, progress in US-China and US-India trade negotiations, coupled with encouraging festive season demand and revival in domestic private sector capex, strengthened investor confidence. The rally also followed a brief profit-booking pause, as major global indices, including the Dow Jones and Nikkei, surged to record highs.

Key gainers included Reliance Industries, SBI Life Insurance, Bharti Airtel, and Tata Steel, while Kotak Mahindra Bank, Infosys, and Adani Ports were among the laggards.

Today's rally underscores Indian markets' sensitivity to US monetary policy and trade developments. The broad based up move despite mixed sectoral trends signals resilient investor sentiment.

FIIs returning as net buyers and strong performances in capex linked sectors point toward continued optimism. We expect bullish momentum to persist if global tailwinds remain intact. Investors should monitor Fed policy decisions, trade deal outcomes, and upcoming earnings.

October 27, 2025· 16:03 IST

Shrikant Chouhan, Head Equity Research, Kotak Securities

Today, the benchmark indices bounced back sharply, with the Nifty ends 171 points higher while the Sensex was up by 567 points. Among sectors, PSU Banks index outperformed, rallied 2.76 percent, whereas despite strong market sentiment, intraday profit booking was seen in Défense and Media stocks.

Technically, the week opening was positive; after a gap-up open, the market maintained its positive momentum throughout the day. A bullish candle on daily charts and a reversal formation on intraday charts indicate a further uptrend from the current levels.

For day traders, 25,900/84500 would act as an immediate support zone. As long as the market trades above this level, the bullish sentiment is likely to continue. On the higher side, it could retest the levels of 26,100-26,150/85000-85300. On the flip side, below 24,900/84500, we could see a quick intraday correction down to 25,800-25,750/84200-84000.

Vishnu Kant Upadhyay, AVP -Research & Advisory, Master Capital Services

India's benchmark Nifty 50 index briefly surged past the psychologically significant 26,000 threshold today, marking its second such breach this year. This uptick extended a multi-session winning streak, fueled by a confluence of domestic resilience and favorable global signals. At the heart of today's action was a widespread sectoral lift-off, with realty, metals, and oil & gas leading the charge.

Broader market sentiments also remained buoyant. Reports of advancing U.S.-India negotiations toward a tariff-reduction pact have ignited hopes for smoother export pathways. This comes alongside positive U.S.-China dialogue. Amid better that expected Q2 earnings, growing optimism about India-US trade deal, and value buying in large-cap stocks, the Nifty50 is likely to trade firm with potential upsurge towards 26300-26500. Market is now ‘Buy the Dip’ mode, every corrective fall towards 25700 should be viewed as opportunity to build fresh long positions.

Prashanth Tapse, Senior VP (Research), Mehta Equities

Firm global cues coupled with global factors related to US-China closer to working out a trade deal and sharp correction in precious metal prices fuelled extended rally in domestic equities.

With current month expiry later this week, investors are also covering their positions, which is also keeping markets in good stead.

October 27, 2025· 15:44 IST

Vinod Nair, Head of Research, Geojit Investments

The domestic market witnessed a broad-based recovery owing to progress in the US-China trade talks. Meanwhile, gold prices declined as demand for safe-haven assets waned.

Softer-than-expected US CPI data renewed expectations of a FED rate cut this week, boosting investor confidence.

Easing global headwinds, coupled with strong domestic reforms, provided cues for domestic earnings growth and justified the current premium valuations.

October 27, 2025· 15:40 IST

Rupak De, Senior Technical Analyst at LKP Securities

The Nifty started on a strong note and remained mostly sideways throughout the day ahead of the NSE F&O expiry. Sentiment continues to remain strong as the index sustains above the breakout point.

The current setup looks favorable for a further rally in the index, with dips likely to be bought into. On the lower end, support is placed at 25,700, below which weakness might emerge. On the higher end, resistance is seen at 26,000; a decisive move or close above this level could trigger a rally towards 26,500 in the short term.

Deveya Gaglani, Senior Research Analyst - Commodities, Axis Securities

Comex Gold snapped its nine-week winning streak last week, falling over 3% amid profit-taking ahead of the highly anticipated meeting between President Trump and Xi Jinping later this week. Progress in US–China trade talks weighed on demand for safe-haven assets, as top negotiators from both sides reached a preliminary consensus after two days of discussions in Malaysia.

The talks covered key issues such as export controls, fentanyl trafficking, agricultural trade, and shipping levies. Meanwhile, markets turned their focus to central bank decisions this week, with policy announcements expected from the Federal Reserve, European Central Bank, and Bank of Japan.

The Fed is widely anticipated to cut interest rates by 25 bps after softer-than-expected CPI data last week, while both the ECB and BOJ are likely to maintain their policy rates steady. Additionally, weak physical demand in India amid record-high prices has further dampened gold’s appeal.

In the domestic market, strong support is placed near the Rs 1,17,000 level, and resistance is seen around the Rs 1,24,000.
