Nagaraj Shetti, Senior Technical Research Analyst at HDFC Securities
After showing a sustainable bounce back from near the crucial trend line support of 25300 levels on Friday, Nifty witnessed follow-through upmove with volatility on Monday and closed the day higher by 82 points. After positive opening, the market surged up further in the early part of the session. The market faced minor weakness at the highs of 25650 and slipped into decline towards the end.
A long bull candle was formed on the daily chart on Monday with upper shadow, which indicates bounce back in the market from near the crucial supports. The overall trend of Nifty remains positive and any weakness down to 25400-25300 could be a buy on dips opportunity. A decisive move above 25700, Nifty could advance towards 26000 levels in the near term.
Rupak De, Senior Technical Analyst at LKP Securities
The index traded within a narrow range of 25,500–25,650 during the session. On the higher side, it encountered resistance near the 50 EMA, while failing to sustain above the 21 EMA on a closing basis — a signal that a weakness may persist over the next one to two sessions.
From a broader perspective, the index has taken support along the upper band of the falling channel on the daily timeframe, suggesting that the broader structure remains intact. However, a decisive move above 25,600 will be crucial to confirm the resumption of a directional upmove. Until then, the index is likely to continue its sideways consolidation phase.
Abhinav Tiwari, Research Analyst at Bonanza
Today, the Indian markets bounced back strongly on Monday, ending a three day losing streak with broad buying across most sectors. The Sensex jumped 319 points to 83,535, and the Nifty 50 gained 82 points to close at 25,574, a clear turnaround after recent weakness.
The rebound came after renewed optimism over a possible end to the 40 day US government shutdown. Over the weekend, the US Senate advanced a funding proposal with bipartisan support, raising hopes that the deadlock might soon end. This improved sentiment across global markets like Japan’s Nikkei rose 1.3%, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng gained 1.6%, and South Korea’s Kospi jumped 3%. Indian equities followed suit, supported by stronger global cues.
IT stocks led the rally, with the Nifty IT index climbing 1.62% as shares of Infosys, TCS, HCL Tech, and Wipro rose up to 2.5%. Banking and metal stocks also posted healthy gains, while overall market breadth stayed positive.
Key drivers of the rally are hopes of a US government shutdown resolution lifted global risk sentiment, strong foreign inflows, with FIIs buying Rs 4,581 crore worth of equities on November 7, and Solid Q2 results from select companies boosted confidence.
We expect some consolidation in the near term as we wait for key macro data such as CPI on November 12, M3 money supply, and WPI on November 14. The focus remains on large cap stocks with steady earnings momentum, particularly in IT, banking, and pharma. Results from companies like Bajaj Finance, ONGC, and Vodafone Idea will likely guide the next market move.
Sudeep Shah, Head - Technical Research and Derivatives at SBI Securities
The benchmark index Nifty opened on a strong footing and maintained positive momentum through the first half of the trading session, climbing to an intraday high of 25653. However, the second half saw a shift in sentiment as profit booking emerged, leading to a mild correction. Despite this, the index managed to close higher at 25574.35, up 0.32% for the day. The daily chart reflects a bullish candle with an upper shadow, suggesting selling pressure at higher levels even as the overall tone remained constructive.
Among the Nifty constituents, Infosys and HCL Technologies stood out as the top gainers, supported by strength in the IT space. On the other hand, Trent and Max Healthcare were among the notable laggards. Sectoral performance was mixed, with Nifty IT and Nifty Pharma indices leading the gains, while Nifty Media and Nifty Realty underperformed and ended in the red.
The broader market also participated in the early rally but witnessed profit booking from the day’s highs in the latter half. Both Nifty Midcap 100 and Nifty Smallcap 100 indices reflected this intraday reversal. Despite the late-session weakness, market breadth remained positive, with the advance-decline ratio tilted in favour of the bulls. Out of the Nifty 500 universe, 275 stocks closed in the green, indicating broad-based buying interest across sectors.
Nifty View
For Nifty, the zone of 25660-25700 will be the crucial hurdle for the index. A sustained move above the 25700 mark could trigger a sharp upside rally, potentially extending towards the 25850 level. On the downside, immediate support is seen in the 25480–25450 range. Any weakness below this support zone may invite further correction.
Bank Nifty View
The Bank Nifty index traded within a narrow range of just 251 points on Monday, reflecting a lack of clear directional momentum. It also witnessed a mild correction from its intraday high. Going ahead, the zone of 58100-58200 will act as important hurdle for the index. While, on the downside, 57600-57500 will act as important support for he index. Overall, a breakout on either side of this defined range is likely to lead to a directional move in Bank Nifty.
Ajit Mishra – SVP, Research, Religare Broking
Markets began the week on a positive note amid optimistic global cues. Following a firm start, the Nifty built on early momentum, supported by strength in select heavyweights across sectors. However, a pullback in the final hour trimmed part of the gains, and the index eventually settled at 25,574.35. Sector-wise, a rebound in IT and pharma, coupled with strength in metal and energy stocks fueled the up move, whereas realty and FMCG ended slightly lower. The broader indices moved largely in tandem, wherein midcap and smallcap indices advanced in the range of 0.47%–0.35% respectively.
The move was supported by improved global sentiment, as progress toward ending the U.S. government shutdown lifted investor confidence. Moreover, FIIs turning net buyers after six consecutive sessions of selling, along with global brokerage Goldman Sachs upgrading India to 'Overweight' from 'Neutral', further added to the positive sentiment.
Nifty registered a close tag below its 20-day EMA i.e. around 25587, which does not favour bulls. Technically, as long as the index holds above the 25,300 mark, a phase of consolidation at current levels cannot be ruled out. However, a decisive breach below this support could trigger profit-taking, dragging the index towards the 25,150–25,050 zone. On the upside, a sustained move above 25,600 would be essential for a further rally towards the 25,800–26,000 region. Participants are advised to adopt a stock-specific approach, accumulate quality stocks on dips, and keep selective shorts as a hedge.
Vinod Nair, Head of Research, Geojit Investments
The potential resolution of the U.S. government shutdown, coupled with renewed FIIs buying driven by a favourable Q2 earnings season, supported a positive sentiment in the market.
The rise in the U.S. 10-year Treasury yield reflects improving risk sentiment toward equities with the reopening of the federal government. Domestically, strengthening macroeconomic indicators are expected to underpin upward revisions in earnings estimates for H2FY26. This reinforces the current valuations and is likely to attract incremental liquidity. Sectorally, the IT index outperformed, buoyed by expectations of demand stabilization.

Groww’s IPO was fairly priced in the range of Rs 95–100 per share, which is not overly aggressive compared to other Indian brokerage peers’ valuations. This reasonable pricing led to strong investor demand, primarily driven by Qualified Institutional Buyers (QIBs) at 22x subscription and Non-Institutional Investors (NIIs) at 9x, with healthy retail participation relative to other recent offerings.
On listing day, Groww is expected to open with a +~5% to +10% gain, supported by positive market sentiment, although recent weak listings such as Lenskart and Orkla may limit exuberance.
At listing, Groww’s implied valuation appears justifiable, backed by rapid customer growth (over 10 crore registered users), strong brand recall in retail investing, rising market share in F&O and mutual fund distribution, and a scalable digital business model with low incremental cost.
We believe Groww represents a strong long-term structural story and can act as a proxy for India’s expanding capital market participation. Investors should therefore treat it as a medium-to-long-term investment opportunity.
Accordingly, we recommend that investors who are allotted shares should hold through listing, while new investors can consider entering post-listing if valuations remain reasonable and business momentum continues — particularly on any post-listing dips as a potential entry point.

Lenskart debuted with a muted stock listing, falling about 3-10% below its IPO price despite a heavily oversubscribed IPO. To win investor confidence, it must: 1) deliver sustained profitability and margin expansion after recent profitable turnaround in FY25; 2) efficiently scale operations and expand into new domestic and international markets to justify its premium valuation; and 3) leverage technology and performance marketing for strong customer acquisition and retention. These steps are crucial to convert growth potential into consistent financial performance and justify its high valuation after the initial subdued market response.
