The Rupee is currently trading near 91.75–91.77, maintaining a relatively flat trajectory.
The Federal Reserve's meeting begins tonight. While rates are expected to remain steady at 3.50%–3.75%, the market is hyper-focused on Chair Jerome Powell’s commentary regarding the 2026 outlook. Expected Range maintain a near-term range of 91.40–92.00.
Rupee found support also due to secondary market showing strong positive momentum, largely driven by Pre-Budget positioning.
Nifty PSE and Nifty CPSE indices seeing significant gains. This surge is attributed to higher fund flows into state-owned enterprises as investors anticipate policy support in the upcoming Union Budget.

After showing decent bounce back with high volatility on Tuesday, Nifty witnessed a sustainable follow-through up move on Wednesday and closed the day higher by 167 points. After opening on a positive note, the market showed volatility within a range for better part of the session. The sharp upside has emerged towards the end and Nifty closed higher.
A reasonable bull candle has been formed on the daily chart with upper and lower shadow. Technically, this market action indicates continuation of Pre-Budget rally and the market is now placed at the edge of breaking above the crucial overhead resistance of 25450 levels.
The overall chart pattern of Nifty indicates a formation of short-term bottom reversal for the market. A sustainable move above the hurdle of 25450-25500 levels could open broad based rally for the Nifty towards 25800 levels in the near term. Immediate support is placed at 25200 levels.

Gaurav Garg, Lemonn Markets Desk
Equity benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty extended their gains on Wednesday, tracking sustained optimism over the India–European Union free trade agreement and firm cues from global markets.
Gains were led by stocks such as Oil & Natural Gas Corporation, Coal India and Axis Bank, which rose as much as 6 percent. In contrast, Asian Paints and Tata Consumer Products weighed on the benchmarks, declining up to 6 percent amid stock-specific selling pressure.
Investor sentiment remained buoyant after India and the European Union sealed a landmark free trade agreement, described as the “mother of all deals”. The pact is expected to create a market of nearly two billion people and covers tariff reductions on 99 percent of Indian exports to the EU and over 97 percent of EU exports to India, together accounting for nearly a quarter of global GDP.
Global cues also remained supportive, with major Asian markets trading higher and US equities ending mostly positive in the previous session. Further comfort came from easing volatility, as India VIX declined over 2 percent to around 14, reflecting improved risk appetite among investors.
From a technical perspective, Nifty’s move above the 25,180 level has signalled a short-term reversal, with potential upside towards 25,800. However, the cautioned that failure to sustain above the 25,400 zone could invite consolidation, while a drop below 25,080 may weaken the near-term outlook.

Abhinav Tiwari Research Analyst at Bonanza
Today, the Indian equity markets ended on a positive note, extending the gains seen in the previous session. Investor sentiment improved on the back of supportive global cues and optimism around trade developments and corporate earnings. Benchmark indices closed higher, led by large cap stocks, while broader markets also participated. However, stock specific moves remained largely driven by news flow and Q3 results.
The recently concluded India-EU FTA continued to be the key sentiment driver. The deal has strengthened expectations of medium term benefits for export oriented sectors and capital goods companies. This optimism helped offset concerns in certain pockets such as automobiles, where competitive pressures could increase. Globally, stable US markets and positive trends across Asian equities supported risk appetite, while steady domestic institutional inflows absorbed intermittent foreign investor profit booking.
Sectorally, metals, banking and oil & gas stocks outperformed, supported by hopes of improved trade flows and a stable domestic growth outlook. Auto stocks were mixed as investors weighed the benefits of the India-EU agreement against reports that South Africa may impose high tariffs which is up to 50%, on fully built vehicle imports from India and China. Such a move could impact export plans of select auto manufacturers over time.
Asian Paints remained in focus following its Q3 FY26 results. The company reported modest revenue growth of around 4% YoY, while consolidated net profit declined by about 5% due to one off exceptional items related to labour code costs and impairment charges. Although margins improved, the stock faced pressure as headline profit weakness and cautious demand commentary overshadowed steady decorative volumes.
Looking ahead, markets are expected to remain stock and sector specific amid the Union Budget build up, ongoing Q3 earnings and developments around global trade policies. While global uncertainties may cause short term volatility, stable macros, easing inflation and benefits from the India–EU trade pact provide a supportive medium term outlook.

Sudeep Shah, Head - Technical and Derivatives Research at SBI Securities
Nifty opened on a strong note but quickly lost momentum, leading to range-bound trade for the major part of the day before sharp surge towards the last hour of the day led to Index closing 0.66% higher at 25,343. On the daily chart, the index has formed a bullish candle with a relatively long lower wick, indicating strong buying interest at lower levels. Despite the strong close above its 200-Day EMA, the Index has been hovering around this key level since last five sessions, underscoring persistent indecision and a tug-of-war between bulls and bears at this crucial long-term support.
On the sectoral front, Nifty Defence ended the day as the top gainer with gains of nearly 7%. Nifty CPSE also saw strong gains of over 5%. On the other hand, Nifty FMCG and Pharma emerged as the top two sectoral losers. With regards to stocks, BEL & ONGC emerged as the top stock gainers amongst the Nifty pack while Tata Consumer and Asian Paint emerged as the top two losers.
The broader markets significantly outperformed the frontline indices. The Midcap index has built a strong support base around the 56,670–56,700 zone and staged a sharp rebound, managing to close marginally above its 200-day EMA. Smallcaps outperformed further, rising over 2% and forming a morning-star-like candlestick pattern on the daily chart, which is typically considered a bullish reversal signal. A strong follow-through above the day’s high could trigger a short-term pullback rally.
The market breadth improved further as the advance-decline ratio was heavily skewed in the favour of bulls at day’s close. A total of 402 stocks out of the Nifty 500 universe ended in the green.
Nifty View
Going ahead, the key support for Nifty is placed in the 25,200–25,150 zone, which coincides with the 200-day EMA zone. A decisive breakdown below this zone could result in Nifty extending its weakness towards 24,900, followed by 24,600 in the near term. On the upside, the 25,450–25,500 zone is expected to act as an immediate resistance zone.
Bank Nifty View
Bank Nifty started positively and moved past its initial highs, but selling pressure near the 59,700 zone capped the upside, resulting in a throwback, before last hour surge led to Index closing at 59,599, up 0.66%. Importantly, the index has managed to close above its key short-term support of the 20-day EMA. Meanwhile, the shrinking MACD histogram bars on the daily chart suggest a loss of bearish momentum and hint at a potential trend stabilisation in the near term.
For Bank Nifty, the immediate resistance is placed in the 59,900–60,000 zone, making it a crucial supply area to watch. Any sustained move above this zone could lead to Index continuing its pullback on the upside towards 60,300, followed by 60,600 in the near term. On the downside, the 50-day EMA zone of 59,100–59,000 zone is likely to act as a strong support.

Domestic markets displayed continued optimism, supported by the India–EU FTA. Broader indices outperformed, driven by strength in Metals, Financials, and Oil & Gas, while FMCG stocks saw profit-booking amid investor shift toward cyclical sectors.
Global markets traded mixed as investors awaited the U.S. Fed’s policy decision. Although the broad expectation is that rates are expected to stay unchanged, the focus is on the Fed Chair’s guidance on possible rate cuts later this year. At the same time, rising U.S.–Iran tensions and uncertainty over global tariffs are expected to keep overall sentiment restrained.

Shadowfax’s muted listing reflects valuation fatigue in the IPO market rather than doubts over the business. While the company boasts strong revenue growth and a pan-India logistics network, weak non-institutional demand and thin listing sentiment capped upside. Near-term stock performance will now hinge on execution, margin improvement and sustained profitability rather than growth alone.

Vikas Gupta, CEO & Chief Investment Strategist, OmniScience Capital
The “mother of all trade deals” is finally done and it is likely to create a huge benefit for both the countries and is likely to have a major impact on global trade. This a trade deal impacting 25% of global GDP and 33% of global trade. The integration of India into global supply chains is now going to be faster and stronger.
Another important aspect is the focus on services and enhancing that with support on business mobility. This means that favourable visa access will be provided to businesses, professionals and students. This is important for India to be able to deliver IT/ITes services, financial services, professional services, research and development services and education services.
On the goods trade, one key point of the India-EU trade deal is the focus on broadly the same set of products which India exports to the US, viz., textiles, leather, marine products, gems and jewellery. While India was already exporting significant amounts of these products to the EU, with the FTA more of the US-bound exports could, in principle, be considered for EU. The FTA will help in finding alternative markets for the US-targeted products.
Overall, the benefits of the trade deal should be seen over the next couple of years and should make India more competitive as a global trade participant.

The deal is positive for India. Add the steep INR depreciation of over 20% against EUR. Indian exports will get very competitive. However , it will take months for the deal to go live. Much will depend on execution. This deal got expedited as both sides wanted some risk mitigation to counter the chaos being churned out by the US. As for markets, this lifts sentiments. This is not a game changer for the market nor does it lead to earnings upgrades on its own.
