Tamil actor Vishal collapses on stage; rushed to hospital

The actor, who was the special guest at 'Kamban Vizha' collapsed the stage making his team and organisers rush for his help which also included former minister K. Ponmudy.

Tamil actor Vishal left his fans in shock after he collapsed on the stage of the Miss Koovagam Transgender Beauty Contest 2006 in Villupuram, Tamil Nadu on Sunday (May 11).

The actor, who was the special guest at 'Kamban Vizha' collapsed the stage making his team and organisers rush for his help which also included former minister K. Ponmudy.

He was rushed to a private hospital located near the venue, where he was provided emergency treatment.

Although the hospital has not given an update yet, Vishal's manager Hari said on Sunday evening, "Vishal has got 2 UP and now he is stable and will take 2 days to recover. The actor probably fainted because he skipped a meal,” said Hari while talking to the media.

The incident has further caused worry for Vishal's health, as he was unwell after recovering from dengue in January 2025.

Viewers had already commented on his frail appearance at public events in recent weeks, and some worried aloud on social media after Sunday’s episode.

Popular Kollywood actor Vishal has been in the news for a few days now and has left his fans heartbroken after reports of him being critically hospitalised emerged.
