In a small village in Solapur, a young IPS officer named Anjana Krishna found herself at the center of a storm that would test her courage and commitment to justice. Her story is not just about clearing the UPSC exam, it's about standing firm in the face of power.

Anjana's journey began in a simple home. Her mother, Seena, worked as a court typist, while her father, Biju, ran a small clothing shop. Despite their modest means, they supported her dreams. Anjana excelled in school and college, earning a degree in Mathematics before setting her sights on the UPSC Civil Services Exam.

Clearing UPSC is no small feat. It demands years of dedication, and Anjana gave it her all. In 2022, her hard work paid off and she secured an All India Rank of 355 and joined the Indian Police Service (IPS). Today, she serves as a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in Solapur, where she is known for her integrity and courage.

On August 31, 2025, DSP Anjana Krishna led a team of police and revenue officials to Kurdu village in Solapur to take action against illegal sand mining. As they began their work, a crowd of 15–20 people gathered and tried to stop them. Among them were four individuals who allegedly used force to prevent the officials from doing their duty.

What happened next surprised everyone. During the operation, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar called Anjana's phone. In a video that later went viral, Anjana can be heard calmly asking Pawar to call her official number for verification. Opposition accused Pawar of threatening her, though he later clarified that his only intention was to ensure peace and not to interfere with law enforcement.

Anjana's calm and professional response during the call won widespread praise. Despite the pressure, she did not back down. She continued with her duty, and a case was filed against the four individuals for unlawful assembly and obstructing public servants.

Anjana's story is a powerful reminder that courage and integrity matter more than power or influence. She cleared one of India's toughest exams through hard work and today she stands for what it means to be a fearless officer. Her journey from a small-town girl to a respected IPS officer inspires countless young Indians to dream big and stand up for what is right.
