In a small town in Bihar, a young boy studied in a government school where he was known as an average student. He wasn't at the top of his class. He didn't get the highest marks. In fact, when he received his class 10th results, he had only scored 44.7%, a result that would make many students give up on big dreams.
But Awanish Sharan was different. He believed that marks don't measure potential. Though he scored 65% in class 12th and 60% in graduation, he held onto a big dream to become an IAS officer.

The path ahead was not easy. Awanish faced failure after failure. He took the state PCS exam and failed. Not once, but ten times. He tried the CDS exam and failed. He attempted the CPF exam and failed again.
Most people would have given up after so many setbacks. But Awanish had a different mindset. Each failure became a lesson. Each "no" brought him closer to his "yes."
In his first attempt at the UPSC Civil Services Exam, he reached the interview round but didn't make the final list. Instead of being discouraged, he worked even harder.
The following year, something remarkable happened. Awanish Sharan, the student who once scored 44% in class 10th, achieved what many thought was impossible. He secured All India Rank 77 in one of the world's toughest exams.
In 2009, he finally realized his dream of becoming an IAS officer. Today, he serves the people of Bilaspur district in Chhattisgarh.

Awanish's story isn't about natural talent or being the smartest student in class. It's about something much more powerful, the courage to keep trying when everyone else says you should quit.
