AR Murugadoss' latest action thriller Madrasi, starring Sivakarthikeyan and Rukmini Vasanth, hit the theatres on Friday. The film is creating a buzz at the box office.
According to a trade website, Madrasi earned Rs 13 crore net in India on September 5. The film saw the most audience from Tamil Nadu, with Chennai and Coimbatore leading the pack. The weekend run is anticipated to gain momentum from the healthy night show turnout, with family audiences probably joining in on Saturday and Sunday.
The film’s overall occupancy rate on its first day in Tamil Nadu was 62.22%, which is a good sign for a high-profile commercial entertainer. The number of visitors to the movie gradually increased later in the day.
The occupancy rate for morning shows was a modest 46.22%, but the evening and night shows saw a significant increase in collections, reaching 63.21% and 77.40%, respectively.
