The BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) on Friday (October 17) released first official high-quality clips of Virat Kohli and Rohit Shama at Perth ahead of a 3-match ODI series against Australia.
The two legends' returning to the ground was recorded in the video, participation in nets, fielding drills and wrapping up the day by interacting with fans and signing autographs. Expectedly, within hours of its release, the clip went viral on all social media platforms.

As per the information by ESPNcricinfo, Kohli could only manage around 40 minutes of batting practice in the nets. During this time, Arshdeep Singh, Harshit Rana delivered balls to Kohli while a few local pacers were bowling on a lively Perth track that is known for its extra bounce. Although a few of the short-of-a-length balls that bounced up unexpectedly gave him some trouble, Kohli was seen in complete control of his innings and he was able to time most of his shots brilliantly off the middle of the bat.
On the next pitch, Rohit Sharma started off a little rusty. His initial movements and timing were not up to the mark but, as the session progressed, he got himself well adjusted, attained his rhythm and confidence through a string of clean, mighty strokes with which he brought his session to a close.
Since both of them have been away from competitive cricket for a few months, a little rust is understandable. It is reported that Kohli maintained his fitness by doing private workouts in London, meanwhile, Rohit was seen practicing at Shivaji Park, Mumbai with the help of former India batting coach Abhishek Nayar.
However, the speed and bounce of Perth are bound to trouble anyone. The surface at Optus Stadium is one of the fastest in world cricket, thus any moment of hesitation or lack of speed can be very costly. This series is very important for both these great players to show that they still merit a place in the Indian ODI team especially when there is a rumor that BCCI is scouting for young players for the 2027 World Cup.
These two are arguably the greatest of the modern era Indian cricketers, and this is just another chance for them to show they still have it and want it.
