Rahul Gandhi steps up attack amid row over Brazilian model: 'Will tell GenZ Modi became PM via vote theft'

Media is picking up small examples, like a Brazilian woman voted. How was voting done on the photo of a Brazilian national?...The reality is that Narendra Modi ji, Amit Shah ji and EC are attacking the Constitution together, says Gandhi.

After his claim of “vote chori” in Haryana triggered a controversy around a Brazilian woman, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday said the Congress will show India's GenZ and youth that Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister through "chunav chori".

"Media is picking up small examples, like a Brazilian woman voted. How was voting done on the photo of a Brazilian national?...The reality is that Narendra Modi ji, Amit Shah ji and EC are attacking the Constitution together. The Constitution says 'One man, one vote'. Haryana shows that there was no 'One man, one vote' there. It was 'One man, multiple votes'...They are going to do the same in Bihar. It happened in MP, Chhattisgarh, Haryana and Gujarat..." he told ANI.

He said he had given a presentation that Haryana elections were not elections at all. "A 'wholesale chori' occurred there. There was no response by the EC to the allegations levelled by me - fake vote, fake photograph. BJP is defending this but not negating what I said," alleged Gandhi.

Gandhi's "vote-chori" presser on Wednesday put the spotlight on a Brazilian woman whose photo the Congress leader claimed appeared multiple times on Haryana's voter list.

According to Gandhi, the same photograph appeared 22 times across at least 10 different polling booths.

The Congress leader accused the BJP of “ensuring victory through fake votes and massive manipulation of postal ballots.” He said, “Congress lost the election by 22,000 votes, but who is this lady? She votes 22 times in Haryana, in 10 different booths in Haryana. She has multiple names.”

Later, the woman in the photograph, identified as Larissa, a Brazilian model and influencer, expressed shock, saying, “Guys, I can’t believe these people are gossiping. They’re using an old photo of mine; I was 18 or 20 in that photo. They’re portraying me as Indian to scam people. What madness! What craziness is this, what world do we live in?”
