The Kukatpally Housing Board (KPHB) police have opened a case on their own against the management of Lulu Mall and the people who organised a promotional event for the upcoming Telugu movie The Raja Saab.

The action comes a day after a large and noisy crowd surrounded actor Nidhhi Agerwal at the mall on Wednesday night for the debut of the song "Sahana Sahana."

There were so many fans at the event that it rapidly got out of hand. A number of videos from the event that later went viral on social media show Nidhhi Agerwal having trouble getting past a crowd that was very full.

Fans were seen coming forward to take selfies and get close to the actress, which kept invading her personal space. Things got out of hand as she struggled to get to her car, and her team formed a barrier around her to keep her safe.

KPHB Inspector S. Rajashekar Reddy said that the people who put on the performance did not get authorisation from the police ahead of time. He said, "A case has been filed against the mall management and the event organizers for holding the event without permission." He also said that more inquiry is needed to look into security and crowd control problems.

According to police, the lack of sufficient planning and crowd control made the situation worse. An officer from the KPHB police station said that inviting a celebrity without getting the right permissions broke normal safety rules, which led to the case being filed.

The song premiere was supposed to start at 5 PM, but it didn't happen until later, by which time a huge throng had already gathered in the mall. Video from the event showed Nidhhi looking quite upset as security tried to keep supporters away. Some people were also spotted trying to touch the actor while they were snapping pictures of themselves.

So far, Nidhhi Agerwal has not made an official comment about what happened. Also there were actors Prabhas and Riddhi Kumar, director Maruthi, producer TG Vishwa Prasad, and music director Thaman.

The incident has once again brought up worries about the safety of celebrities at public events and the necessity for tougher enforcement of permissions and security measures to stop this from happening again.
