Veteran actor Dharmendra, one of Hindi cinema’s most beloved and iconic stars, is stable and doing fine, tweeted his actress wife Hema Malini.
Earlier there were reports confirming that the veteran actor had passed away but Hema Malini and her daughter Esha Deol have dismissed these reports as untrue.
She posted an angry tweet which read: "What is happening is unforgivable! How can responsible channels spread false news about a person who is responding to treatment and is recovering? This is being extremely disrespectful and irresponsible. Please give due respect to the family and its need for privacy."
Dharmendra has been under medical care for the past several days.
For generations of moviegoers, he is more than a superstar and a symbol of warmth, strength, and simplicity, an actor who could make audiences laugh, cry, and root for him with equal intensity.

Born Dharam Singh Deol in Punjab, he moved to Mumbai with a dream that many shared but few achieved. What followed was a career that spanned over six decades, filled with some of Indian cinema’s most memorable roles.
From the romantic charm of Satyakam and Anupama to the rugged heroism of Sholay, Hathyar, Jugnu, and countless others, Dharmendra defined versatility.
He earned the title of “He-Man of Bollywood” for his powerful presence in action films, yet it was his effortless warmth in comedies like Chupke Chupke that showed his true range as a performer. Audiences loved him not just for his films, but for the sincerity he brought into every character.
He continued acting well into his later years, appearing in films such as Apne, Life in a… Metro, Yamla Pagla Deewana, and most recently in Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani (2023), where his performance won the hearts of a new generation.
Away from the screen, Dharmendra was known to be gentle, affectionate, deeply emotional, and fiercely loyal to his family and friends. His social media posts, filled with memories and heartfelt thoughts, often went viral simply because of their honesty.
