Singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh has now officially confirmed that he is teaming up with filmmaker Imtiaz Ali once again, revealing the news through his latest behind-the-scenes vlog shared from the sets of his new film, currently being shot in Punjab.
The actor-singer posted the vlog on Instagram on Thursday, giving fans a rare peek into what a typical day on set looks like for him. This marks Diljit and Imtiaz’s second collaboration after Amar Singh Chamkila, and the video makes that evident.
In the vlog, Diljit is seen beginning his day as early as 4:30 am and goes straight into a quick workout session and later sits for breakfast, keeping it simple with fruits and protein before setting off with his team for the day’s shoot. He wrote in the caption, "4am to 9pm."
The behind-the-scenes footage also captures him filming portions in front of a green screen and sharing warm, easygoing interactions with Imtiaz Ali. The camaraderie between the two clearly confirms that Imtiaz is once again directing Diljit in this yet-to-be-titled project.
Once the shoot wraps up, Diljit returns to a picturesque haveli where he has been staying during the filming schedule, adding a rustic charm to his everyday routine.
This new project marks the duo’s reunion after the critically acclaimed Amar Singh Chamkila, which was based on the life of the iconic and controversial Punjabi musician Chamkila. The film also starred Parineeti Chopra.
The movie was highly praised by viewers and was nominated for two International Emmy Awards: Best TV Movie/Mini-Series and Best Actor for Diljit Dosanjh. The nominations were widely hailed as a turning point for Indian cinema and Punjabi storytelling on the international scene, even though it didn't win any awards.
Meanwhile, Diljit is gearing up for the release of Border 2, co-starring Varun Dhawan, Ahan Shetty, and Sunny Deol. Directed by Anurag Singh and backed by T-Series and J.P. Films, the film serves as the long-awaited sequel to J.P. Dutta’s 1997 classic.
