A Reddit post made just hours before the car explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort has drawn widespread attention after the tragedy claimed at least eight lives and left 20 others injured on Monday evening.
The post, titled “Is something going on in Delhi?”, was shared around 4 pm—roughly three hours before the blast, which occurred shortly before 7 pm on the busy Old Delhi stretch. In the message, the user, identifying themselves as a Class 12 student, mentioned spotting an unusually high number of police and army personnel while travelling through the area earlier that day.
“I just came back from my school (12 student) and not lying everywhere there was just police and army and media like on the red fort on metro everywhere. Not even kidding when I was traveling in the metro I saw more army than ever. Is something going on like what's up today? [sic],” the user wrote.
The explosion, involving a Hyundai i20 parked near the Red Fort, took place hours later. The timing of the Reddit post has since become a topic of intense discussion online, with users on Reddit and X highlighting the coincidence.

“Bro tried to warn us all (unknowingly),” one Redditor remarked, while another commented, “Bro predicted future with exact place.”
The post has now gone viral and has been widely circulated across social media platforms.
Meanwhile, speaking to the media after the incident, Union Home Minister Amit Shah confirmed that several investigative bodies—including the National Investigation Agency (NIA), the Intelligence Bureau (IB), and the Delhi Police’s anti-terror wing—were examining the case.
“All possible angles are being looked into,” Shah said, adding that no theory had been ruled out at this stage.
According to initial reports, the explosion site has been sealed off and forensic teams have begun collecting evidence. Investigators are also reviewing CCTV footage from the surrounding area.
