Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, while speaking at the Nvidia AI Summit in Mumbai today, took a surprising detour from the complex world of artificial intelligence to confess his love for his favourite Indian dish—chicken biryani, albeit briefly.
In a speech that highlighted the intricacies of AI and reasoning, Huang drew an analogy between intelligence and instinct, using biryani as a charming example. “Intelligence is not just one shot, but intelligence requires thinking. And thinking is reasoning... For example, if you ask me what my favourite Indian food is, I would tell you chicken biryani. And I don’t have to think about that very much, and I don’t have to reason about that. I just know it,” Huang said to the audience.
He then went back to Nvidia saying: “What's Nvidia good at? Nvidia’s good at building AI supercomputers. Nvidia’s great at building GPUs. And those are things that you know that is encoded into your knowledge."

Huang’s analogy aimed to explain how AI, much like humans, can instantly recall certain knowledge without much contemplation while still needing to process other types of information more thoughtfully.
On whether AI will take human jobs, Huang said: “I know absolutely not but the person who uses AI to automate 20%-50% is going to take your job."
He further added that "in the long-term, I am hoping humans will have their personal AI assistants and partners remembering things for them."
The summit, being held at Jio World Convention Centre, saw Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani join Huang on stage and discuss AI and more.
Huang also announced that its cutting edge Blackwell chips - crucial to its upcoming graphics processing unit (GPU) architecture - will be available for shipping to customers from the fourth quarter onwards, with production in full swing.
