When asked "is AI going to take your job?" - Nvidia founder says that "I know absolutely not but the person who uses AI to automate 20%-50% is going to take your job." He further adds that "in the long-term, I am hoping humans will have their personal AI assistants and partners remembering things for them."

TCS launches Nvidia business unit to accelerate AI adoption for customers across industries

South Korea’s SK Hynix, one of the world’s leading memory chipmakers, reported record quarterly profit on Thursday, driven by strong demand for its high bandwidth memory (HBM) used in generative AI. Operating profit for the July-September quarter reached an all-time high, a significant turnaround from the 1.8 trillion won loss recorded during the same period last year. Quarterly revenue surged by approximately 94% year-on-year, rising from 9.1 trillion won.

Chairman Mukesh Ambani at the 47th Annual General Meeting of Reliance Industries on August 29 announced AI-led digital offerings, and said the company is preparing the groundwork for a national AI infrastructure.

According to the Yahoo Finance report, in the last quarter, the major tech companies such as Alphabet, Meta and Microsoft spent over $40 billion on AI. Additionally, Amazon has said that the spending on AI will likely surpass $30-billion mark in the second half of the year as compared with the first half.

According to a Yahoo Finance report, experts suggest that the chip giant is on the way to become first Big Tech company to reach $4-trillion valuation.

As per the latest reports, Nvidia's current market value has gone up to $3.39 trillion. With the current m-cap, Nvidia is now the second-largest company in the world just behind Apple.

Jensen Huang expressed his admiration for Prime Minister Modi's keen interest in emerging technologies, especially AI. “The Prime Minister is an incredible student. Every time I meet him, he is eager to learn more about technology and artificial intelligence, as well as the potential opportunities for India and the impact on its society and industry,” Huang remarked.

A study by Boston Consulting Group revealed that 19 percent of the world’s chip designers are based in India, though the majority work for foreign companies that manufacture chips overseas, according to the report. Industry experts have called on the government to create a complete chip design and manufacturing ecosystem within India.

If developed, the AI chip would feature core design by Nvidia’s partners, such as Arm or AMD, while the customised top layers could be managed by India’s Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) or private Indian companies.

According to the ET report, Nvidia is likely to collaborate with Indian Railways for the Kavach security system. The company may also extend support to Indian start-ups as part of AI mission, the report added

American chipmaker Nvidia has proposed a collaboration with India to co-develop an artificial intelligence (AI) chip, according to a report by The Economic Times. Nvidia aims to leverage India’s strong semiconductor design talent and rapidly expanding market. The proposal was initiated by Nvidia founder and CEO Jensen Huang during a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the US earlier this year.

Last month, after meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New York, Jensen Huang had said that "This is India’s moment. You have to seize the opportunity." Huang was one of 15 tech leaders who met with PM Modi during his visit to the United States.

The summit will feature sessions on how AI infrastructure enhances sectors like healthcare, agriculture, education, and manufacturing.

The NVIDIA AI Summit India, happening from October 23–25 at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai, will explore how India is addressing the world’s most significant challenges.
