Sudeep Shah, Head - Technical and Derivatives Research at SBI Securities.
Nifty traded in a tight sideways range through the session and closed at 25954, up 0.07%. Despite the muted move, the index showed resilience as bulls strongly defended the previous day’s low zone of 25910–25900. On the daily chart, Nifty formed a small-bodied candle with a lower wick, highlighting buying interest at lower levels and continued support-based demand.
On the sectoral front, Nifty Healthcare ended the day as the top gainer with gains of 1.62%, followed by Nifty Auto. On the other hand, Nifty IT ended the day as the top sectoral loser, closing the day 1.5% lower, followed by Nifty Capital Market. With regards to stocks, Eicher Motors & Apollo Hospitals emerged as the top stock gainers amongst the Nifty pack while TCS & Infosys emerged as the top two losers.
The Midcap index formed a thin-bodied candle with a relatively longer lower shadow, indicating buying at lower levels. Importantly, the index has shifted into the leading quadrant from the improving quadrant on the relative rotation setup, suggesting that strength and momentum are returning to the midcap space.
The Smallcap index also printed a thin-bodied candle with a minor lower shadow, reflecting strong buying interest on dips. Immediate resistance is placed near the 100-day EMA around 17500. A sustained move above this level could extend the ongoing pullback rally in the index.
The market breadth was slightly weak as the advance-decline ratio was slightly tilted in the favour of bears at day’s close. A total of 271 stocks out of the Nifty 500 universe ended in the red.
Nifty View
Going ahead, the immediate resistance for Nifty is placed in the 26000–26050 zone. Any sustainable move above this zone could result in Nifty extending its pullback towards 26200, followed by 26400 in the short term. On the downside, the zone of 25850–25800 zone is likely to act as a strong support zone.
Bank Nifty View
Bank Nifty remained in consolidation mode for the third straight session, oscillating within the 60876–60445 range. The 60500–60400 zone continues to act as a strong demand pocket, with buyers repeatedly stepping in near this band. A decisive breakout above or below this range is likely to determine the next directional move.
For Bank Nifty, the immediate resistance is placed in the 61000–61100 zone, making it a strong resistance. Any sustained move above this zone could lead to Index continuing its up move on the upside towards 61400, followed by 61700 in the near term. On the downside, the zone of 60500–60400 zone is likely to act as a strong support.

Rupak De, Senior Technical Analyst at LKP Securities
The index faced resistance at 26,000, resulting in a correction from the day’s high. However, the short-term trend remains positive as it continues to hold above the immediate support at 25,800. A decisive move above 26,000 could trigger further upside toward higher levels. The technical setup remains bullish, with the RSI in a bullish crossover and the index trading above the 20DMA, supporting a positive bias.

Ajit Mishra – SVP, Research, Religare Broking
Markets traded in a lacklustre manner and ended almost unchanged, taking a breather after the recent surge. After an initial uptick, the Nifty index hovered within a narrow range for most of the session and finally closed at 25,953.85 level. Sectoral trends were mixed, keeping participants engaged, with auto, pharma and realty among the top gainers, while weakness in IT, energy and FMCG stocks restricted any meaningful upside. The broader indices moved largely in line with the benchmark and ended on a flat note, indicating limited participation beyond select pockets.
Sentiment remained cautiously positive amid mixed cues. Investors reacted to favourable earnings announcements from select companies, but muted global signals capped momentum and prevented follow-through buying. Continued foreign institutional activity has also influenced trading behaviour, resulting in a selective and stock-specific approach across sectors.
The pause in the index is largely on expected lines, and some further consolidation may unfold over the coming sessions, though the overall tone is likely to remain positive. Participants should continue to focus on stock selection and use this consolidation phase to accumulate quality names across sectors, except IT, which continues to face pressure. Within the broader market, preference remains for midcap stocks, with selective exposure to smallcaps based on relative strength and risk-reward.

Abhinav Tiwari Research Analyst at Bonanza
Today, the Indian equity markets ended flat. The Sensex hovered around 84,200, while the Nifty 50 managed to hold just above the 25,900 level. On the sectoral front, autos, pharma and some PSU financials witnessed buying interest. However, weakness in large cap IT stocks and profit booking in recent outperformers limited overall gains.
The government’s OFS in BHEL remained a key focus. Up to 3% stake was offered at a floor price of Rs 254 per share, which was at a discount to the market price. This led to volatility in BHEL and also
created some pressure on sentiment in the broader PSU and capital goods space.
Globally, markets tracked the new US-Bangladesh trade agreement, which could impact competitiveness of Indian textile exporters due to tariff differences.
In the near term, markets may continue to consolidate as investors assess Q3 earnings, the BHEL OFS supply and global trade developments. However, the medium term outlook remains positive, supported by steady domestic growth and institutional flows, with preference for quality banks, consumption and select manufacturing names

Vinod Nair, Head of Research, Geojit Investments
Domestic equities may enter a brief consolidation phase following this week’s strong rally driven by the US–India trade deal. Market attention has shifted back to mixed Q3 results, upcoming monthly inflation data, and finer details of the trade agreement, which is reportedly nearing finalisation. Strength in auto and healthcare sectors reflects better than expected earnings, while IT underperformed amid a global sell off linked to AI related volatility.
Broader markets lagged, with Midcap and Smallcap indices posting modest declines.
Globally, sentiment stayed cautious due to weak US retail sales and persistent AI related disruptions, keeping investors risk averse ahead of key US employment data. Meanwhile, domestic markets have begun to benefit from improving FII flows, which have turned positive and is expected continue due to upside in GDP forecast and moderation in India's valuations.

For Gold to hit $6,000 it would mean an increase of roughly 20% from current levels. Such a move usually only occurs in crisis conditions, especially when we have already seen such a strong increase in price over the last 18-24 months. This would require extreme macro conditions. We would need to see a combination of sharp USD weakness, aggressive rate cuts, sustained central bank buying, high inflation fears, and a major geopolitical or financial shock, as gold typically performs best when real interest rates fall and uncertainty rises.
Whilst $6,000 is possible over the long term under current trends such as de-dollarisation, persistent inflation, and reserve diversification, it would be unlikely to be anytime soon unless we see a combination of the factors mentioned or there is significant global disruption.

Most of Gold and Silver ETFs in Indian market have rebounded after its recent fall from their all-time high levels. Gold ETFs have rebounded to 50% of Fib. Retracement level of its recent fall and consolidating since past couple of sessions. Here, we can also observe that most of ETFs are continued to sustain over their respective 50-DEMA level like Mirae Asset Gold ETF sustained 139.55, GoldBees sustained over 118.68 and CHOICEGOLD managed to hold over 141.90. These are the crucial support areas of these ETFs. Since Gold price in India is holding its breadth over 150,000 level, we may expect Sideways-to-Bullish momentum in Gold ETFs.
Since Gold is outperforming the Silver price in past few sessions after panic fall in International and Indian market, Silver ETFs are also underperforming compared to Gold ETFs. Unlike Gold ETFs, most of ETFs have not rebounded much after a fall. Looking at technical charts of most of Silver ETFs, we can observe that prices have rebounded to 23% of Fib. Retracement level so far. SilverBees have started trading over its 50-DEMA level placed at 233.15. At current condition, Silver ETFs may remain sluggish in its moderately bullish trend.
