Genesis’ career expands to modelling as well. She was hired by Calvin Klein for their Fall 2016 campaign along with other musical artists. However, the singer tried to defend her music video and admitted that True Blue was not meant for those who link it to their beliefs. She also claimed that the backlash doesn’t bother her.
In a recent interview with Office Magazine, Genesis talked about True Blue and addressed the controversy. She said, “If you like it, you like it, and if you don’t, you don’t. We don’t care. It’s not for you. It could be not for you for a lot of reasons—where you are in your life or your beliefs.”
However, Tommy Genesis also received criticism from the Indian rapper Raftaar. He took to his Instagram Story and called her out for her controversial video. He wrote, “This is a mockery of my religion. This shouldn't exist." Genesis is yet to respond to Raftaar’s criticism.
