Veteran Marathi actress Suhasini Deshpande passes away

Suhasini Deshpande, a veteran actress in the Marathi cinema industry, passed away recently in Pune. Her death has left the Marathi film community in deep sorrow. Known for her remarkable acting skills, Suhasini Deshpande made significant contributions not only to Marathi cinema but also to Hindi films.

 
Deshpande's career in the film industry is decorated with numerous popular films. Some of her notable Marathi movies include "Manacha Kunku" (1981), "Katha" (1983), "Aaj Jhale Mukt Mi" (1986), "Aai Shapath...!" (2006), "Chiranjeev" (2016), and "Dhondi" (2017). She also worked in the 2019 release "Singham" which further showcased her versatility as an actress. Apart from her film roles, Suhasini Deshpande was also known for her outstanding performances in plays, where she portrayed various characters with grace and depth. Her roles in plays like "Akolecha Kandhachi," "Rajkaran Gel Chulit," and "Saasubai's Aasaan Asatein" earned her immense respect and admiration.

In addition to her work in films and theatre, Deshpande was also honored for her contribution to the arts. In 2015, she received the prestigious Jayant Rao Tilak Smriti Jeevangaurav award from the Pune Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Natya Parishad, recognizing her for her lifetime achievements in the field of drama and cinema.

 
The actress's final rites are scheduled to be performed at Vaikunth Crematorium in Pune, where friends, family, and fans are expected to gather to pay their last respects. Her passing marks the end of an era for many who admired her dedication to the craft of acting and her ability to bring characters to life on both stage and screen.
