The Dubai Fountain, the world’s largest performing fountain, is set to make a dazzling comeback in early October 2025. Following extensive renovations, the Downtown Dubai landmark beside the Burj Khalifa now features upgraded lighting, advanced sound systems, and brand-new choreography designed to create an even more spectacular show. The attraction had been closed for five months to undergo these major upgrades — and by Dubai’s standards, visitors are in for a treat.

Property developer Emaar has confirmed the reopening timeline and revealed details of what spectators can expect once the fountain resumes its world-famous performances. The landmark, which was temporarily hidden behind giant digital screens during maintenance, has now been refilled with water. With the final touches complete, the Dubai Fountain is just days away from lighting up the city’s skyline again.

An Iconic Landmark of Dubai

Since its debut, the Dubai Fountain has been a symbol of the city’s creativity and innovation, drawing millions of visitors with its dazzling displays of music, water, and light. Stretching across a vast lake equal to the size of 18 football fields, the fountain can shoot up to 22,000 gallons of water as high as 140 meters in sync with carefully programmed music and lighting.

What’s New After the Upgrade

The renovation brings reinforced flooring for better durability and insulation, while advanced robotics will now play a bigger role in choreography—allowing for more precise movements and sharper light effects. These technological enhancements mean every performance will deliver a fresh, unforgettable experience for audiences.

Keeping the Spirit Alive During Closure

During the closure, developer Emaar kept the attraction alive by transforming construction fences into digital screens that streamed archival fountain shows, paired with the Burj Khalifa’s light displays. This creative approach ensured visitors still enjoyed a glimpse of the fountain’s magic while waiting for its return.

Boost for Dubai’s Tourism Industry

The relaunch comes at a key time for Dubai’s booming tourism sector. As one of the city’s most-visited attractions, the Dubai Fountain’s upgraded shows are expected to draw even bigger crowds and reinforce Dubai’s reputation as a global hub for world-class entertainment and cultural experiences.

A Must-See Experience in 2025

With its much-anticipated return this October, the Dubai Fountain is set to reclaim its spot as one of Dubai’s most iconic landmarks. For travelers planning a visit, witnessing the renewed fountain show will be a must-do experience that embodies the spirit of Dubai’s innovation and grandeur.
