Veteran actor Dharmendra is currently admitted to the hospital. However, several reports suggested that Dharmendra passed away on November 11 due to age-related issues. However, Dharmendra's daughter and actress Esha Deol has now debunked the death rumours, sharing an update on his health.
Esha took to her Instagram and wrote, "The media seems to be in overdrive and spreading false news. My father is stable and recovering. We request everyone to give our family privacy. Thank you for the prayers for papa's speedy recovery."
The statement reads, “Mr. Dharmendra is stable and under observation. Further comments and updates will be shared as available. Kindly don’t indulge in spreading false rumours regarding his health.”
The team also requested for prayers and privacy. It concluded, “Request everyone to pray for his speedy recovery and respect the family’s right to privacy.”
However, Hema Malini has also slammed media outlets for spreading false rumours about Dharmendra's death. She tweeted, "What is happening is unforgivable! How can responsible channels spread false news about a person who is responding to treatment and is recovering? This is being extremely disrespectful and irresponsible. Please give due respect to the family and its need for privacy."
Police barricades have been set up outside Dharmendra's Juhu home to control the crowds and media. In support of the iconic actor who has been a mainstay of Indian cinema for over 60 years, fans have been gathering every day and leaving messages and flowers.
Several Bollywood actors, including Salman Khan, Govinda, Ameesha Patel, Shah Rukh Khan, and his son Aryan Khan, were spotted outside the hospital late at night to meet the veteran actor. They looked visibly emotional.
Earlier on Monday, Hema Malini, Esha Deol, Sunny Deol, Rajveer Deol, and Karan Deol were also seen arriving at the hospital to visit Dharmendra.
