Transition videos are a fad on social media these days and such clips are being created and shared by social media users and influencers alike. The latest person to hop on the trends bandwagon was UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak as well. However, his attempt didn’t go as planned and he became a fodder for memes on the internet.
Sunak tried to make a transition video on TikTok but it flopped and left social media users in splits. The original video, shared by the Conservative Party, showed Sunak unveiling a £20 million government grant for the improvement of Blyth’s high street and investment in crime reduction.
“If you live in or around Blyth, you’re going to want to hear this,” he said in the clip and then placed his palm on the camera in an attempt to create a transition. However, he reappeared in the same setting and continued, “We’re giving your town £20 million to improve things like the high street, safety, and community heritage.”
Needless to say that the video went viral online and the internet trolled Sunak for his failed attempt. Several TikTok users turned the Prime Minister’s clip into memes.

A fourth user chimed in, “Rishi Sunak’s attempt at a video transition has made him viral on TikTok as people globally duet with him - here’s one from Iceland.”
"There's a fly on the camera," another person wrote.
Meanwhile, Sunak spoke to Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and expressed his hope for a de-escalation of the diplomatic tensions between India and Canada. The discussion primarily revolved around the standoff related to the killing of a Sikh separatist leader in June.
