Tech billionaire Elon Musk has called for the deportation of a Boston-based imam following a sermon in which the cleric accused white Americans of global violence and declared that the US would collapse without Islam.
“Kick him out of the country,” Musk wrote on X, responding to a widely circulated video of Abdullah Faaruuq’s sermon, which has since ignited fierce debate online.

In the sermon, Faaruuq referred to white Americans as “sick” and urged them to “go back to Europe,” accusing them of causing “hell in this country and all over the world.” He described the U.S. as “the land of the coward and the home of the slave,” and said the country had never truly believed in equality. “Without Islam, America will meet its demise,” he added.
Faaruuq also referenced the “Appeal to the Great Spirit” statue outside Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts, calling it a symbolic plea for Europeans to return to their homelands. He linked racial division in the US to fears over interracial relationships and the growing presence of Islam in communities of color.
While the imam did acknowledge that “plenty of white people” are “just as good as any other person,” his overall message was sharply critical of America’s racial and colonial history.
Responding to Musk's post, MAGA congressional candidate from Texas, Valentina Gomez, commented, "America would be better if every Muslim picked up their smelly rugs and went back to any of the 57 muslim nations. They’re a threat to national security."
The incident comes a week after Gomez shared a video of setting the Islamic holy book, the Quran, on fire. "I will end Islam in Texas, so help me God,” she captioned the video, which went viral and drew widespread condemnation from Muslim advocacy groups, political leaders, and social media users. Muslims make up roughly one percent of the state's population.
Gomez has repeatedly used violent stunts and hateful rhetoric targeting Muslims, the LGBTQ+, Black community, and immigrants, in an apparent attempt to advance a struggling political career, The Independent reported.
