A woman from Italy has claimed that she is the secret daughter of the founder of Lamborghini. Flavia Borzone, who works as a beautician in Naples, revealed that she has DNA evidence to prove the same.
Borzone, 35, claimed in a lawsuit that she tested Tonino Lamborghini’s daughter Elettra’s saliva. She revealed that she hired a private detective to retrieve a drinking straw used by Elettra, who is a socialite and singer, to prove that they were siblings. She also wanted to prove that she is an heir to the fortune amassed by the family through the luxury car’s business, the Telegraph reported.
In fact, post a test of the DNA sample at the University of Ferrara, experts said that Borzone was actually related to Elettra. The woman claimed that Lamborghini met her mother at a bus stop in 1980. He was driving by and offered her a lift. The two came into a relationship and later Borzone was born in 1988.
According to the Telegraph, Lamorghini denied all the claims and sued Borzone and her mother for defamation after she went public with her findings. However, the beautician mentioned that she secretly recorded a conversation with her suspected father in 2019 when she had driven to Funo in Bologna to meet him.
Borzone’s lawyer claimed Lamborghini had “admitted to having a relationship with Colossimo” and Borzone’s real name, Clelia, was a tribute to his mother.
Despite all the evidence, Lamborghini’s lawyer is calling the case “unlawful” as the DNA was retrieved without Elettra’s consent or knowledge. Basis this, he is arguing that the DNA should not be submitted as evidence.
“For us, it was important to show that Flavia Borzone did not want to offend Mr. Lamborghini, she just wants to be recognized [as his daughter)]. She has lived for years without knowing who her father is,” Borzone’s lawyer, Sergio Culiersi, told the Telegraph.
As per the report, Lamborghini refused to submit his own DNA for testing, which is why a private investigator was hired to do the job of obtaining Elettra’s saliva. “Our client and Elettra Lamborghini are sisters. They are daughters of the same father. This should be enough to throw out the accusation of defamation because [Borzone and her mother] have just told the truth,” her legal team said.
Borzone’s mother said that they don’t want anything to do with the fortune. She just wants to know who her father truly is, she said. “If it had been all about the money, I would have done all this when Flavia was two years old,” Colossimo told the court.
Meanwhile, Tonino Lamborghini has five children – four daughters and a son.
