Political leaders across the country have expressed shock and sadness over the high-intensity blast near Delhi's historic Red Fort that took place on Monday evening, leaving at least eight people dead and many others injured.

"The news of several lives lost in the car blast near Delhi's Red Fort has caused pain and shock. I pray that the departed souls attain eternal peace and that the injured recover swiftly," Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said in a post on X.

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said he was deeply saddened and shocked beyond words by the blast in the national capital.

"My thoughts and prayers for the bereaved families grieving for their beloved ones lost in this inhuman act. I pray for the recovery of all those injured," he said in a post on X.

Union Minister HD Kumara Swamy said in a post on X, "Deeply saddened by the blast in Delhi this evening that has resulted in the loss of precious lives and left people injured. My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, and prayers for the swift recovery of those who are injured."

Delhi Police have registered a case in connection with the blast near the historic Red Fort in the city under various Sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), the Explosives Act, and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

"A case has been registered under sections 16, 18 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and various sections of the Explosives Act and the BNS at the Kotwali Police Station," Delhi Police said.

The US Embassy in India issued a security alert for its citizens living in India after a blast took place near Delhi's iconic Red Fort on Monday evening.

On its official website, the US Embassy said, "On November 10, 2025, a car exploded near the Lal Quila (Red Fort) metro station in central Delhi, India, with local media reporting multiple casualties. While the cause of the explosion is unknown at this time, the Government of India has placed several Indian states on high alert."

Security has been beefed at the Mata Vaishno Devi cave shrine, its base camp Katra, and Jammu city following the Red Fort blast in the national capital Monday evening, officials said.

A high-intensity explosion ripped through a slow-moving car at a traffic signal near the Red Fort Metro Station, killing at least eight people and gutting several vehicles.

FSL Officer Mohamad Wahid said, "...The samples will be taken to the laboratory, and after that, only we can make any confirmation...Everything will be known after the examination..."

Union Home Minister Amit Shah said a detailed analysis of the blast near the Red Fort on Monday evening will be conducted with top security officers on Tuesday.

"Tomorrow morning, we will hold a detailed analysis of the blast with senior officers at the home ministry," Shah told reporters after meeting those injured in the blast at the LNJP Hospital. (PTI)

"Defence Minister Rajnath Singh tweets, "The car blast incident in Delhi is extremely painful and disturbing. At this moment of immense grief, I extend my sincerest condolences to the families of the deceased. Praying for the speedy recovery of those injured," Defence Minister Rajnath Singh wrote on X.

Bihar is on high alert following the Delhi blast. Teams are on alert in Bihar, and everyone is being checked.

Security has been tightened across Chandigarh after a blast in Delhi. Police are on high alert.

Kerala Police Chief Ravada Azad Chandrasekhar has directed the police to strengthen security across the state.

An alert has also been issued in Haryana. The government has issued instructions to all district magistrates.
