Raymond's chairperson and managing director Gautam Singhania has questioned luxury car maker Lamborghini after one of their Rs 10 crore models caught fire on a busy street in Bengaluru on Sunday evening.
The Lamborghini Aventador belongs to social media influencer Sanjeev, known to his 1.4 lakh Instagram followers as Nimma Mane Maga Sanju. Visuals of the incident went viral, showing flames erupting from the rear of the vehicle—where the engine is located—as bystanders rushed to douse the fire using water, sand, and a fire extinguisher. No serious injuries were reported.
Resharing the video on X, Singhania wrote, "This isn’t a 'rare incident' anymore. It’s a pattern.
Why is Lamborghini silent? Why are their cars catching fire? Are their cars safe? Should they be allowed in India?"
Another day, another Lamborghini in flames.
This time in Bengaluru, as per report from NDTV.
This isn’t a “rare incident” anymore. It’s a pattern.

Initial speculation suggested the car was completely gutted, but Sanjeev later clarified that the damage was “minor.” “The car is safe. It was a small fire, and we managed to control it quickly,” he said in a follow-up post.
Sanjeev, who identifies as a farmer, is known for his fleet of high-end cars and his signature gold jewellery, often seen draped around his neck and wrists. The cause of the fire remains unknown, though the incident has sparked fresh concerns about the safety of supercars on Indian roads.
This isn’t the first time a Lamborghini has caught fire in India. A similar incident involving a Revuelto model occurred in Mumbai last December, prompting questions from car enthusiasts about the reliability of these high-performance machines.
This is also not the first time that the Raymond boss has lashed out at Lamborghini. Last October, he blasted Lamborghini's India and Asia heads on social media for not reaching out to him after he complained about a Lamborghini Revuelto getting stranded in the middle of the road in Mumbai after he took it out for a test drive on October 3.
"I'm shocked at the arrogance of India head Sharad Agarwal and Asia head Francesco Scardaoni. Not one has reached out to even check what the customer issues are," Singhania wrote on LinkedIn. He claimed that he had been facing problems with the luxury car within 15 days of delivery.
The 60-year-old is no stranger to the high-profile life as a billionaire and is well known for his collection of exclusive luxury cars. Singhanhia once personally went to France to drive a Formula One racer. From the swanky Ferrari 458, an Audi Q7, the LP570 Superleggera, the Nissan Skyline GT-R, and a Lamborghini Gallardo are part of his collection.
