Venu Gopalakrishnan, the CEO and founder of Litmus 7 Systems Consulting Private Limited, made headlines in Kerala after purchasing the most expensive notified fancy vehicle registration number ever sold in the state. He paid Rs 45.99 lakh at an online auction conducted by the Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) to secure the number ‘KL 07 DG 0007’ for his luxury Lamborghini Urus Performante, worth an estimated Rs 4 crore.
The auction, which took place on April 7, witnessed an intense bidding war. It began with Rs 25,000 bids placed by five individuals, each vying to claim the ‘0007’ number. The competition eventually narrowed to two final bidders, with Gopalakrishnan placing the winning bid, narrowly surpassing the second-highest offer of Rs 44.84 lakh.
Another fancy number, ‘KL 07 DG 0001’, was also sold during the auction for Rs 25.52 lakh. The Kerala government has categorised fancy vehicle numbers into six slabs, with base prices ranging from Rs 3,000 to Rs 1 lakh. The number ‘1’ is among the most sought-after, carrying the highest base price of Rs 1 lakh.
Following the purchase, Gopalakrishnan took to Instagram to share a video of his new lime green Lamborghini Urus Performante, which he claimed was the first of its kind in Kerala.
“The wait is over! Meet the newest addition to our family – Lamborghini Urus Performante, Kerala's first, and it's making headlines for its record-breaking number, 'KL 07 DG 0007', the most expensive fancy vehicle number in Kerala,” he wrote in the post.
The entrepreneur’s Instagram feed also reflects his passion for high-performance automobiles and motorcycles. Recent posts feature him behind the wheel of a Lamborghini Huracán Sterrato and riding a BMW M1000 XR bike.
