A red Lamborghini struck two laborers who were working on a footpath next to an under-construction complex in Noida's Sector 94 on Sunday evening. The injured men were quickly taken to a hospital, and the driver has been arrested, according to the police.

A viral video of the incident shows the red sports car crashing into a tree on the median of the footpath, and workers wearing safety helmets and orange jackets running towards it.

The video shows the accused stepping out of his car and asking locals, "Koi mar gaya idhar? (Did anyone die here?)".

A man in the video is then heard asking the accused if he was aware of how many people had died. Shortly afterward, someone can be heard urging, "Police ko bulao (Call the police)".

Bhupendra Singh, the In-charge at Sector 126 Police Station, told PTI, "In the car accident two labourers were injured and they were from Chhattisgarh. They are out of danger and have fractures in their legs." He added that the accident took place near an under-construction building.

He mentioned that an FIR had been filed based on a complaint by Ganga Ram, the son of one of the injured, under sections 281 (rash driving) and 125(b) (endangering human life) of the BNS.

"The car driver has been identified as Deepak, a resident of Ajmer and the car is registered with the Puducherry registration. He has been arrested and the car has been seized," he added.

During questioning, Deepak told the police that the accident occurred due to a fault. Singh added that further investigation is ongoing.

"Following the FIR, we arrested Deepak, a resident of Ajmer. The investigation is still ongoing," said the SHO.

The police also mentioned that Deepak runs a car-selling business.
