A rented Mahindra Thar allegedly driven by a minor rammed into multiple parked vehicles and a two-wheeler in Noida on Friday after the teenager panicked on spotting his family members, leaving one man injured, reported NDTV. The incident occurred near the ESIC Hospital in Sector 24.

Police said the boy, a resident of Delhi, had taken the SUV on rent without informing his family. He had left home the previous afternoon and was travelling with a friend, who is also a minor. The two were reportedly heading to meet another acquaintance when the situation spiralled out of control.

As the boy remained unreachable, his family began looking for him. According to investigators, when the teenager noticed his relatives while he was driving, he became nervous, lost control of the vehicle and ploughed into several cars and motorcycles parked along the road.

Eyewitness footage from the spot showed extensive damage, with broken vehicle parts scattered across the area and the Thar itself badly wrecked due to the force of the impact.

After the crash, the two boys attempted to escape. However, people present at the scene chased them down and prevented them from leaving until the police arrived.

According to the report, Rana Singh, who suffered injuries in the incident, later approached the police to lodge a complaint. Recounting the moments, he reportedly said, "I was on my way back from duty. A black Thar hit me, and I was badly injured. Some people took me to a nearby hospital for treatment. I have come to the police station to file my report. The car was at a speed of nearly 100 kilometres per hour. The driver did not even look at me. He hit me and left. I was the only one injured."

Police officials confirmed that both minors have been taken into custody in connection with the crash. A case has been registered, and the rented Mahindra Thar has been seized as part of the investigation.

Authorities are continuing to look into the circumstances under which the vehicle was rented to the underage boys and the sequence of events that led to the accident.
