Dharmendra health update: 89-year-old veteran actor's health deteriorates, put on ventilator: Report

Dharmendra, one of Hindi cinema’s most cherished icons, has been admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital due to age-related health complications. The 89-year-old actor had initially gone in for a routine medical evaluation, but doctors advised continued observation after he reportedly experienced difficulty in breathing. His condition has since prompted both concern and steady attention from the film fraternity and fans alike.

In recent days, unverified social media chatter and exaggerated reports have caused additional worry, but those close to him maintain that he is under careful supervision and receiving appropriate treatment. Hospital staff and the family have requested privacy while the actor continues to recover, and have expressed gratitude for the overwhelming love being sent his way.

Sunny Deol’s team issued a brief statement to address the speculation and put a sense of calm back into the conversation. “Mr. Dharmendra is stable and under observation. Further comments and updates will be shared as available. We request everyone to pray for his speedy recovery and respect the family’s right to privacy.” The message was clear and reassuring, and fans responded with an outpouring of wishes and prayers across social media platforms.

Over the past few days, several close family members and colleagues have been seen visiting Dharmendra at the hospital. Hema Malini was photographed arriving earlier, appearing composed but visibly concerned. As Dharmendra’s partner through decades of life, cinema, and public scrutiny, her presence has held emotional resonance for both fans and the film industry. Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, who have always shared an affectionate and protective bond with their father, have been consistently by his side as well.

On Sunday evening, Salman Khan was also seen visiting the hospital. His car pulled up quietly at the entrance, but the sight of him was quickly noticed by fans and paparazzi gathered outside. Salman stayed low-key, heading inside to check on Dharmendra and the family. Salman has shared a warm rapport with Dharmendra and the Deol family over the years, often calling the veteran actor a mentor and someone he admires deeply.

Dharmendra’s legacy spans more than six decades of cinema, from Sholay and Chupke Chupke to his recent performance in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. For now, the industry waits, respectfully and hopefully, for his recovery and return home.
