A Bengaluru-based tech entrepreneur announced his move from the Silicon Valley of India to Pune, reflecting on his 14+ years in the city that shaped his professional and personal life. Known for creating AI-driven apps, Ujjawal Asthana shared an emotional farewell to the city he calls a "beautiful experience."
Asthana credited Bengaluru for pivotal milestones: his first job, international travel, successful business ventures, startup funding, and even his life partner. Despite not being a native, he described feeling fully at home in the city, highlighting its welcoming culture that transcends socio-economic divides.
“I am not a local but there wasn't a day when I felt like an outsider - and if you are thinking thats because I live in a bubble of high rise and car – that’s not the case. I have also lived the BMTC, auto, cab life in the city for longest time,” he wrote.
“Bengaluru is not a city; it is a beautiful experience that is hard to explain in words. You experience it once you live with the people here and walk in the lanes of Jayanagar," he wrote, urging critics to look beyond its reputation for weather, coffee, beer, and startups.
He concluded: “And while I am going to make Pune my new home, and I can't wait to start my journey there, I will keep walking in the lanes of Bangalore - the city I have called home since I became an adult, on each trip.”
The entrepreneur’s move to Pune marks a new chapter, and he is actively hiring for multiple roles in the city. Positions include leaders in B2B SaaS marketing, performance marketing, content marketing, and a “founder’s office” role, with no salary cap for the right candidates. He signalled a preference for high-agency professionals and ex-founders.
With this move, I am also hiring across these roles in Pune. Salary no bar for the right folks. We're very well capitalised. High agency folks, ex-founders, founding team members would be given preference.1. B2B saas marketing/sales leader2. Performance marketing expert/leader
