The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) announced its long-awaited seat-sharing formula for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, scheduled for November 2025. Both the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Janata Dal (United) will contest 101 seats each, while the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) has been allocated 29 seats. Rashtriya Lok Morcha and Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) will contest six seats each.
When asked about LJP (Ram Vilas) receiving 29 seats, Manjhi said, “Others can understand what they received, but we are satisfied with what we have been allotted and we have no complaints.”
The announcement followed a meeting of the BJP’s Central Election Committee (CEC) at the party headquarters in Delhi, attended by senior leaders including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, and Bihar Deputy CM Samrat Chaudhary.
Earlier, Bihar BJP chief Dilip Jaiswal said the NDA partners were united and that the list of candidates would be finalised soon.
LJP (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan posted on X, “Bihar is ready. Once again an NDA government — this time with full strength alongside #BiharFirstBihariFirst.”
The Bihar Assembly polls will be held in two phases on November 6 and 11, with counting scheduled for November 14.
