Diljit Dosanjh’s starrer Sardaar Ji 3 is currently entangled in controversy over the casting of Pakistani actress Hania Aamir amid the tension between India and Pakistan. Despite the criticism and backlash, the film’s makers decided to skip India and release the film overseas.
However, co-producer Gunbir Singh Sidhu has now addressed the backlash and has announced that he will not collaborate with Pakistani artists in future. Additionally, he also criticised Hania Aamir’s comment on India’s Operation Sindoor, which had sparked outrage.
In a recent interview with NDTV, Gunbir Singh called out Hania for her comment and said, “I believe that they should not have made such statements. But I cannot comment more than that. But I would say that those things should not have happened, and she hit below the belt. Now we have taken this decision with full strength that we will not work with any Pakistani artist from now on.”
The producer also mentioned that the film was already shot in February-March 2025 before the Phalgham attack on April 21. He also suggested that they had shot the film in the UK, and during that time, things were not tense between the two nations. He added, “The whole atmosphere was normal. There was no restriction from the Government of India or any other institution.”
Directed by Amar Hundal, Sardaar Ji 3 also stars Neeru Bajwa and Saleem Albela in the key roles. The romance comedy centres around a ghost hunter, Jaggi, and his spirit friend Pinky, as they team up to investigate a haunted castle in the UK.
Things take a spooky turn when they confront a defiant ghost and uncover a dark secret. Jaggi races against time to solve his most difficult case.
Sardaar Ji 3 is set to release in overseas theatres on June 27.
