Singer and songwriter Diljit Dosanjh is riding on the success of his recently released blockbuster Kufar from his album Aura. However, the singer has recently talked about his father for the very first time.
In a recent video, which is going viral on Instagram, Diljit revealed how his father never called him because he respected his space.
Diljit said in Punjabi that translates to, “Daddy used to work in Punjab Road. Daddy is a very nice person. He never stopped me from doing anything. He never called me and asked me where I was. Never ever in my life.”
The singer added, “He never called me and asked me where I was. At first, I thought he was ignoring me.”
Diljit elaborated, “But then I understood. This is how you live your life. What else do you want? Freedom is a big thing. I love my daddy a lot.”
For the unversed, Diljit Dosanjh’s father, Balbir Singh, is a former employee of Punjab Roadways.
Diljit moved to Ludhiana to live with his uncle for better educational opportunities. He discovered his passion for singing in Ludhiana and started performing locally. He is one of three siblings, with an older sister and a younger brother.

Diljit Dosanjh's father attended his concert for the first time in October 2024 in Manchester for the first time. The singer also dedicated a song to his father.
"Thank you, Dad," Diljit said in appreciation. He revealed that it was the first time he had ever told him, "I love you." Additionally, he revealed that his father greatly admires the renowned Punjabi singer Kuldeep Manak.
