When Shivanshu Ranjan, an IIT BHU graduate from Patna, landed a job at Amazon as a software engineer, he expected his father to celebrate the news. Instead, he got a one-word reply: “ok”. The exchange has since gone viral, sparking a wave of humorous and heartfelt reactions online.

Ranjan, who had previously interned with Amazon, shared the news with his father over text: “Job lag gaya, Amazon me” (“I’ve got a job at Amazon”). The reply—just “ok”—was posted on X with the caption, “Typical dad response after I got job.”
