This year’s list reflected the impact of performances across international cricket, domestic tournaments and franchise leagues.

Google released its annual list of the most searched Indian personalities of 2025, with cricket figures accounting for every position in the top ten. The ranking marked a significant departure from previous years, which had seen a mix of film stars, political leaders and sports personalities.

This year’s list reflected the impact of performances across international cricket, domestic tournaments and franchise leagues. According to the data, interest generated by on-field achievements outweighed attention drawn by entertainment and political developments.

The most searched individual was Vaibhav Suryavanshi, a 14-year-old cricketer whose performances drew nationwide attention. The teenager attracted widespread interest following a series of milestones, including becoming the youngest player to score a century in the Indian Premier League and achieving the same feat for India’s Under-19 side. His rise prompted sustained online searches throughout the year.

Suryavanshi, who hails from Bihar, first came into focus last year after being selected by Rajasthan Royals for the IPL. During the season, he recorded the fastest IPL hundred by an Indian batter and also emerged as the youngest centurion in Youth One-Day Internationals, achievements that drove significant public curiosity.

Priyansh Arya featured next on the list after a breakout IPL campaign with Punjab Kings. The left-handed opener accumulated 475 runs in his debut season and played a key role in helping the franchise reach the tournament final. His consistent performances contributed to his growing search interest.

Abhishek Sharma was also among the most searched names. Having trained under former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh, Sharma established himself as a prominent figure in India’s limited-overs plans. His aggressive approach at the top of the order and his widely shared “Orange Army” note celebration during the IPL season drew substantial engagement online.

Another name on the list was Shaik Rasheed of Andhra Pradesh. A member of India’s Under-19 World Cup-winning squad in 2022, Rasheed attracted attention following strong domestic performances. He made his Indian Premier League debut for Chennai Super Kings earlier in the year, while his outings in the Ranji Trophy further increased public interest.

Jemimah Rodrigues represented women’s cricket among the most searched personalities. She received widespread recognition for her performance in the Women’s 50-over World Cup final, where she scored an unbeaten 127. Her innings proved decisive in India’s victory over Australia and became one of the most discussed moments of the tournament.

Smriti Mandhana also featured in the top ten, reinforcing the visibility of women’s cricket in online searches. India’s Women’s World Cup triumph contributed significantly to sustained interest in the players throughout the year.
