Salman Khan, the popular Bollywood actor, has been provided with additional layers of security after the murder of his close friend and former Maharashtra minister, Baba Siddique. Following the tragic incident, Salman Khan’s security was upgraded to Y-plus, which includes a police escort vehicle traveling alongside his own. This increase in security comes amid ongoing threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which claimed responsibility for Siddique’s murder.

Y-plus security provides Salman Khan with personal security officers and an escort vehicle, which is now a constant presence during his travel. A constable trained in using various weapons also accompanies the actor at all times, further ensuring his protection. According to the Mumbai Police, security arrangements have been fortified, particularly around Salman Khan’s Panvel farmhouse, where personnel have been deployed both inside and outside the premises to monitor the area.

The Lawrence Bishnoi gang that has previously targeted Salman Khan, has made repeated threats against the actor over the past few years. The gang’s claims of responsibility for Siddique’s murder highlight the dangerous links between gang violence and Bollywood figures. In fact, a failed attempt to kill Salman Khan in June 2024 was foiled by the Mumbai Police near his farmhouse, where the gang had planned to stop his car and attack him with AK-47 rifles.

In light of these threats, authorities have increased their vigilance whenever Salman Khan is scheduled to appear in public or attend shoots. Local police stations are alerted to his whereabouts, and security is tightened in the area to ensure his safety. Additionally, his security at the Bigg Boss set, where Salman Khan is currently hosting the 18th season of the reality show, has been enhanced. The production team has coordinated with authorities to maintain a secure environment during filming.

Baba Siddique’s murder, which took place on October 12, 2024, was a shocking incident. Siddique was shot outside his office in Mumbai by two gunmen, who, along with a co-conspirator, were arrested the following day. The Bishnoi gang took responsibility for the assassination through a Facebook post, explaining that Siddique was targeted because of his close ties with Salman Khan and his alleged links to underworld figures like Dawood Ibrahim.

Salman Khan’s connection to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang dates back several years, with the actor receiving multiple death threats from the gang due to his involvement in the infamous blackbuck poaching case. The gang has repeatedly expressed its intentions to harm Khan, citing revenge for the blackbuck case as one of the primary motives.

The escalating threats and Siddique’s death have prompted authorities to take all necessary precautions to safeguard Salman Khan. Blockades have been put up in various locations near his Panvel farmhouse to monitor vehicle movement and prevent any suspicious activity. Security personnel closely monitor his property, and checkpoints have been established along the main road leading to the farmhouse.

Although these measures have been intensified in recent months, Salman Khan continues his professional commitments. There has been no change in his schedule for Bigg Boss or other film projects, despite the heightened security. He remains under constant protection, and his team is fully aware of the risks involved in his public appearances.

The tragic loss of Baba Siddique has cast a shadow over Salman Khan’s life, raising concerns about the safety of public figures in India, especially those with ties to high-profile political or criminal cases. Siddique’s murder, and the subsequent threats to Khan, have once again drawn attention to the ongoing battle between organized crime and public figures in the country. As investigations continue, the Mumbai Police remain vigilant, ensuring that Salman Khan’s security is their top priority.
